Why do people but 15k?
Why do people play Online games, what do you actually achieve out of it...............
(Playing video games serves no purpose, other than entertainment why argue about what you do in them)
Why do People waste Money on 15k or FoW armor?

But it all depends on the player gets their entertainment. Others play for pvp, others for pve, and others just like to show off their equips
its not hard to get 15k armor, the only "farming" i do is for greens in SF, and i mostly do that to get greens for myself, ones i dont need i sell cheap to people who need help in ascalon city, and the ones that sell for good money i get some cash for those. yet i have many sets of 15k for each of my 3 pve chars. you dont have to farm to make alot of money in this game, just pick up EVERYTHING thats dropped for you
unless your scrolled all the way up to first person view, you have to look at your character, why not make them more pleasing to the eye?

yea i know this is an old post, but i came across it and no one said anything about this:
Have you never played a MMORPG before? Have you never heard of WOW, EQ, L2, etc etc etc?!?!?! Half of the reason you play these games is so you can stand back and admire what you have that you can claim as YOURS. This goes with looks as half of it. I can't imagine how many hours me and my L2 buddies have argued about the best looking armor for elven male fighters. It's how half of the game is played for ppl. Why do people have dyed armor? cuz it looks good. And if you are willing to spend the money, in most cases FoW looks better than any other possible armor out there......so dont bitch about how MMORPGs are played, you just made yourself look like a ultra noob

1. You are using swords...(unless you already have a guy with an axe on your team)
2. You said suldering.
3. You meant sundering...which is still crap.
4. You want a fortitude mod, which you should want an armor mod or something else better.

It sounded more to me that you simply posted it to bash "n00bs" wearing 15K or FoW armor.
I bash people that talk about their 15K or FoW armor as if it somehow made them "better" than people without. That doesn't mean buying the armor in itself is "bad" - only the attitudes people display while wearing it.
But your question was more trolling than "insightful".
Also, what else are they to spend money on? Money has very little value in this. Other then armor and vanity skined weapons, what else am I to spend my 100k on? It isn't like RL where people go into credit debt wearing A&F clothes instead of paying their credit card bills on time. There is nothing else to do with money.

-it is the most noticeable (it actually shows in town, UNLIKE WEAPONS).
-it doesn't have a highly risky fluctuating price (UNLIKE WEAPONS)
-it is easier to get into groups (for some reason)
-people will know you have been to granite citadel/marhan's grotto
-you only need one set (UNLIKE WEAPONS)
-They aren't nerfed (at least since release, exception of Lietenant's Helm)
-it is the most noticeable (it actually shows in town, UNLIKE WEAPONS).

LifeInfusion thats exactly the reason I like 15k and FoW. I had a really hard time getting my ele a group for FoW runs but as soon as I got him Fissure armour I kept getting invites.
Some people who wear Fissure armour act as if they are better then anyone else. I only preferd the look af it yet its a fact that if you wear Fissure people think your good.
Strange but it only applies to PvE.
If you wear FoW into PvP everyone seems to target you, they probally think your a target caller.
But all in all people buy it to stand out, and when you already have all the items you want and have 1 mil lying around its the persons choice to buy what ever they like no matter what you might say or think.

I apologize if somehow this got double or triple posted. Sometimes the Submit Reply button goes crazy on me.
I see the logic behind 15k armour (highest AL + looks) but not behind Forge.
Firstly, the Ranger Forge armour is pure crap. It looks worse than the pre-searing ranger armour.
Secondly, aside from the Necro and Monk armours, all of them look either generic or as ugly as sin.
And it costs an extra bajillion gold.

What really amuses me are the people who say "why buy FoW armor when you better can spend the money on weapons". That's really funny. They can't understand why I prefer spending my money making my character look cool (but doesn't make her any stronger in the game) and themselves, they'd spend money on expensive weapons which don't make their characters any stronger either. Weapons are completely meaningless in GW. A blank weapon is 90% as good as the best "perfect" weapon you can get and a collector item is 99% as good. I have never bought an item from another player. To me, it's the ultimate waste of money in GW. Funnily enough, there is no new thread every couple of days basically stating that everyone buying weapons must be clueless, isn't it?
If you like to look cool: buy FoW armor
If you like to brag with perfect weapons: buy weapons
If you don't care about either: make a PvP char.
PS: Yes, it's correct that not every FoW armor looks better than their 15k counterparts. I'd never swap my 15k aeromancer's set for an ele FoW, not even if you'd give me the 105 Ecto for free.
