Serious Guild Hall Query

I am wondering, since I CANNOT find an answer in the flood of page after page AFTER PAGE on here...Exhaustive but damn!

Can a guild pool their income and resources at the guild hall? meaning can they all deposit gold into one big bankvault or store stuff? People describe it as a private island setting? what, exactly does that f-ing mean?

what is this guild hall you speak of? *dodges incoming tomatoes and beer bottles*

..i'm new to guild wars (though i have been playing like mad. reached level 10 already)

It's a place for you and your guild to meet up and whatnot. That is as far an explanation as I am likely to get around here. The other threads dealing with guildhalls and their parallel subjects tend to devolve into pissing contests...

I dunno why, but nobody seems to answer a direct question regarding guild halls. Who knows, must be the water

As was stated a Guild Hall is a private place for your guild to meet. It is also the setting for guild -vs- guild battles. All guildhalls are on the same place on teh "BIG" map... a small island off the coast of Lions Arch.

As for a common vault or storage area.. there isn't one yet, but Here to hopin the devs add that feature.. along with some sort of access control for parts of it. I'd imagine that security is one of the reasons they haven't implemented a guild vault yet. Too big of a chance of an unscrupulous member cleaning it out on everyone else.

The "private island setting" thing is actually a very acurate answer. Guild halls aren't really halls. There are several different map types all of which are islands. Some of them do have a slightly hall like structure on them, but there are no rooms, no storage, no guild banners so far as I could tell (of course I didn't buy one just looked at them, so maybe when you buy it it adds them.... but I doubt it) The entire map is basically just for GvG combat. It's a complete letdown, I mean I don't know about anyone else but I heard "Guild Hall" and envisions something like... I don't know... a hall? Completely pointless.
