With shields more than any other item, the graphic is critical, which is sad news for you, Ryo. I pay seven figure sums all the time for the right tall shields, but I would never pay even a 6 figure sum for an aegis, reinforced buckler, round shield, etc. regardless of its stats. Remember how much of the screen a shield takes up: if it has a req above 10 or an ugly skin, its value is decimated.

that having been said, aegis shields are also my favorite class.
you would never pay 6 figures for an aegis, i would never pay high figures for a tall shield, but out of everyone i know who buys shields you are one of the very few who prefers tall over others.
i also know well over a dozen people who would gladly pay 500k or more, on the spot; jay, who initially purchased the shield, is one of them. i really have zero idea where you get your numbers as 30/2 shields with worse graphics and higher reqs routinly sell for 300-450k in high-volume districts.
that is not to say the world is devoid of imbicils, as i have bought several 30/2 sheilds for well under 200k (and resold quite a few; i use some of the others).
but i think the main thing is that you are confusing the fact that just because you would not pay 500k for it, noone else would.
i will happily concede a 7 30/-2 tall shield could command 1 mil or over (especially if you are the buyer), meanwhile i would not pay over 500k for it to have as my own, but i know plenty who would.

I agree that many people would pay mid range six figure sums (500K) for that shield you bought. The stats are comparable to Malinon's (66% of the total health bonus, but no condition thereon) and the skin is the same. The req is exceptionally low, but anything 10 or less is generally adequate, and the market is finally coming to the realization that splurges on req 7s, for the sake of their increasingly common requirement, are beyond foolish.
Among average, good, and great stat shields an eternal is worth considerably more than a tall shield, as the eternal is far more rare. Among shields with absolutely flawless stats (i.e. two mods both maxed) the tall and eternal are equally rare (as in they are practically unique in the game), and the two are generally valued equally as well.
