When should one leave for the academy?

I'm almost lvl 5 and want to start doing missions so i can get to 10 asap. Should i leave now or lvl up a bit more before i leave?

I think a good level to get to is about 7 or so. Have you done all the quests in Pre-seared? They help you level pretty quickly since 250, 500, 1000 xp quests points add up fast.

I think around level 5 is fine if you have explored the world as much as you want to so far (and picked up a secondary profession). My three characters have all been level 4-6 when I moved on past the Searing and all are fine in the post-Searing world.

Any tips on things to do before i leave. I already picked up 2nd profession. Upgraded Tauberk and Gauntlets and Upgraded my sword.

Bah, once your lvl 4 your ready, and the missions there are tedious at best.

Leave and start the game.

Ok, this might be a stupid question (trust me...im full of them!!!) but i got the game yesterday, already sitting at lvl 8...how do i go about going to the acadamy??? what is the acadamy???? and for that matter what the heck are the artifacts for?

From memory you talk to Sir Tydus, he will ask you if you are ready to move on, you then move to a new part of the game.

I am going to try to finish ALL of the quests first, so I can get as much stuff as possible.

Yah I waited till I was level 7 just because I wasnt sure where to go! Heh but then I found out that I needed to go to Sir Tydus to started the new part.

Now i've gone thru the academy now i'm in the new wrecked ascalon. What do i do from here where are the missions?

my biggest worry for going to the next area in guild wars is that i would never be able to aquire the skills that i havn't gotten in the first area. i have heard that you can never get them ever again, or you can buy them back in the second area. can someone clarify this for me please? thx guys.
