where can i find the master salvage kit?

If you mean Expert Salvage Kit, I think you can start buying it at Yak's Bend.

yep thats what i meant =) hmm do you know what i need to salvage to get steel ingots?

I have yet to get a steel ingot from salvaging, but I will say this: the only times I have salvaged a rare crafting item is by using an Expert Salvage Kit with a rare (yellow, blue or purple) salvage item. But you still may be able to use an Expert Salvage Kit on weapons and items, and instead of getting iron ingots, you would get steel ingots (which is what sometimes happened in beta).

My storage is filled with crafting materials. This game makes me feel like a pack rat.

hmm i just salvaged an item 2 secs ago and it was just a regular item.. can't remember what it was but i did get steel from it ><

Higher-level weapons and some armors will occasionally salvage into steel. You can also craft steel at some artisans, though you'll need lots of iron and wood(have to make charcoal from the wood, then steel from the iron and charcoal).
