could somebody PLEASE post a step by step what to do... (doesnt have to be in-depth)

absolutely nothing.

Click on her: toggles on/off following
Give her a new flute: she will heal you
Give her a cape: she will meet you outside other towns
Give her a bunch of flowers: she will give you a tapestry thread and you can come up with your own theory of its use.

Overall: She's slightly helpful, but is mostly annoying.

She takes my flowers, heals me , follows me most places but I dont think has ever given me a quest and won't take the expensive cape I bought for her (and the merchant wont buy it back).
Is it because I ignored her until I got my 2nd class?

Her quest is inactive/incomplete/whatever, the short of it is it doesn't work at this time. Flowers/Cape are a waste of time and money. I could never even get her to accept the cape I blew 100g on which was alot of money to me when i was a noob on my first char in pre. Her flute in post also doesn't seem to have any use at this time, although I've been meaning to try and have it on me when i see her parents in UW, haven't gotten around to that yet.

Silly folks, do you not yet know the secret...?

Most people choose to hate her, aside from that she has no use to most people... for me however, she is a reason to stay in pre-searing. She may be dull but she is better at healing than some monks ive teamed with.

u can find her brokken flute in post searing , and i also heard a rumor about someone finding her torn cape....

and chris, is that true that u can give Sara (gwens mom) her brokken flute in UW ?

Regarding Gwen not taking the flute and cape, I understand that this will happen if you team with someone who has already given them to her, to get the res sig for example. Even if you go back to her afterwards solo, you still can't pass them on and it would also seem that how ever many flowers you give her she wont part with the shred.
It would seem that if you want the full Gwen experience, don't do either of the quests that need you to party up with someone until you get the shred off her.

THere is a torn girls cape that has appeared outside of Fishermans haven. I have only seen it spawn twice when I was exploring/farming out there.
THere is no info that I am aware of that giving the flute to Sara in UW does something.

There is also a dead flower to be found in post searing... not sure where though...
