Wierd Forum Loading Times

Maybe it's just me, but I have had really long loading times when a couple of ads in particular are displayed at the top. They are the "Next Generation Smiles" and the "Frog catch flys" ones. Perhaps this isn't a problem for others or maybe its something with my own machine, but I thought I would bring it up anyway. I find myself hitting refresh whenever either of these adds show up and if I get any other ads the pages load quickly. Just a heads up for you.

I noticed my loading times increased as well with the new banner ads. Might be how they are served out - not sure. I thought originally it was just the time of day I was hitting the server and the number of people on.

k ill try changing the ad to an iframe, that might speed things up

You do not want us to spam within the forum, why should these companies be allowed to spam our emails? We are not gonna WIN anything with their Contests or whatever they want to call them. It is a just a ploy to get our Email addresses so they can annoy us even more. I understand you need the revenue. But these type ads are very annoying and I make sure I NEVER click on them. I have a fast cable modem and they are slow to load even at 4mbs speed. I'll end up refreshing many times till I get an ad that doesn't do this. These companies can sell their products just as effectively without irritating us to no end.

I understand why ads are on sites, but when they slow them down that sucks.

It's still those same two ads. The Next Generation Smiles and the Frog catch a fly ads. All of the others do not affect my page load times. Can anyone else confirm it's happening for those two...perhaps others as well?

I sometimes use a laptop while browsing the forum, so I tend to notice resource hogs a little faster than when I use my desktop. Whenever those ads come up, my CPU usage SPIKES. Hugely. Its got a 2gig processor with 512megs of RAM, and it hits mid to high 90's (its normally 0-3%) in CPU utilization whenever those ads are showing, but RAM usage stays around normal.
