"show of" in towns

"showing of" more then just the armor (without headpiece) is very important for us humans ehh gamers..

Why can´t players carry around swords and stuff in towns?

So i suggest the GWteam add a chattcommand "/show of"
then you will show your mounted weapons and can toggle between the other sets.
of course you cant use them in town....but i really would like to show other people how awesome my crystalsword is
its not needed to be able to go around with the stuff visible..

but using the command to make the character hold up hes stuff and show people around... like a kata

any more that would like that?

Well i happen to agree i wish they would let them be shown, but its a miner issue. Plus i gonna be a monk so proly wont have and fantabulous weapons.

Actually, it would make sense in some places. I don't think it'd be appropriate in Lion's Arch, for example, but it'd be okay for Druid's Overlook or the like.

Anyway, I don't think I'd use it, but it might be a good addition (maybe even better if /rolleyes is also added ).

I completly agree I found a chaos axe and an eternal sheild last beta and I would have loved to show it off.

yeah visible weapons will draw attention to you when walking the streets.
"whoa where did you get that lovely/mean/brutal piece"
"how much?"
"what is it´s damage?"
and on and on.....

It's to keep bandwidth and processing times down. Towns and lobbies have a lot more characters running around than you do in a mission or even the largest scrums in PvP. If all those character models also could display any of the weapons in the game and the shields or even use skills and the rest, then there's much more data that has to pass between your computer and the rest of the network. By limiting the complexity they can increase the performance for everyone.

yeah i thought of that.
but i was thinking of maybe limit the "show off" to just the weapon and not even allow the character to walk in the mean time.
/show off= the character takes out his sword or bow and hold it up slowly turning it a litte and then put it away again.

showing a sword in trademode just dont cut it when it comes to display anything other then the stats on the weapon.

I don't know. I wouldn't like to see people running around with weaponry in a major city like Ascalon. Though, I could see it being practical in places where you get a party just to do a mission (The Wall, The Academy, Ruins, etc)

its nothing about "practical". i just want to take up my crystalsword and show it to whoever wants to see it, then put it away again and continiue with the game
