Help Please!

I just downloaded the beta about an hour ago and I installed it and went to make a new account and when I hit submit, it came up with a box that said connecting. Its been there for about a 40 minutes. Has anyone experienced this? or know whats wrong?

Yes, they only have the game up and running once a month now in Beta. As it is a MMORPG you cant play it as a Stand Alone game unfortunately. (The same way as another NCSoft game is, City of Heroes)

That sucks. The Asheron's Call 2 beta let you play the game strait up it just had alot of glitches.

Actually it's quite brilliant. I wish WoW would have done it like this, maybe alot of my issues with that game would have been fixed during beta, and not an after-thought for post release.

Inbetween each BWE they add content, fix bugs, collect and use players suggestions and balance skills/items. That way when we see the game next it has another months polish and you can really see the improvements.

For 5 bucks you can preorder and get into the next two BWE's.

I'm assuming by Beta you were referring to the fact that you pre-ordered the game and are trying to get access to the Beta Weekend Events. If you were accepted into the actual Beta testing and you are having problems you need to resolve the problem with Gaile.

The Beta is closed, so you can only get in if you are invited (there's no sign up for it). AN has been holding contests with a reward of a Beta spot, so you might want to keep an eye on those. Don't know if there will be an open Beta outside the BWEs, maybe just before release as a stress test.

Actually pre-ordering is free. The 5$ (20$ in my case) are just a deposit so you get the poster, the miniguide, the CD and the two keys for free. I think Guild Wars has the most useful preorder package.

Is the beta only open on weekends?
