GW Radio - Needs YOU!

Guild Wars Radio, aims to be a Community run online radio station, dedicated to Guild Wars, and all things to-do with Guild Wars...

We will have Regular HoH Favour updates, latest patch info, Live commentaries of in-game GvG's and eventually ladder/cup finals

Prizes, Games, Competitions, and general get-togethers will be organised...

We are currently looking for idlers in our IRC channel, members for our Guild, and mostly, Listeners....

Guild Wars Radio Launches OFFICIALLY on April the 21st, 2006 (1 week before the Factions release)

We are on the QuakeNet IRC Server in channel #GuildWars.Radio - and the in-game '[GWR]' Guild Leaders name is "Kal Thuzand" (You can add to friends if you wish)

reminds me of a onlione text rpg i used to play. they had a nifty radio setup with regular dj's (one slot being with the creators of the game), prize give aways and just generall radio chatter. oh and music.

may i suggest some kind of chat system on your website as i for one hate using IRC to chat, even if it's a simple irc linked java style applet kinda thingy (to be specific )

Make sure to have lots of prizes IG, it's the lifeblood of most stations. Check out http://www.eve-radio.com/ for an example of an excellent station.

Lol, I used to Dj on eve-radio, I diddnt like the way they ran things, me and MrBaggins had a couple of run-ins, I made suggestions, he diddnt like them, i tried to ask why, he said stfu.... etc.... and Stora was a cow to me (Is she still on there???) oh.. and and hows KP??

It's a small word. I am happy I keep saying that about GW.

I love how they look, although I'm from afar. Who's Mr. Baggins, for one? From the little I've heard of St0ra, I've liked her. Really, I like a lot of the newer DJ's who play rock.

Another suggestion is to advertise. Just post on every GW forum you can find.

People need to know the website address, the stream address and most probably a scedule of who and when things are going to be playing. (posibly with the different time zone times eg GMT, PST ect)

Kind of weird that’s one the thing that Guild Wars don’t have is some sort of audio communication, if you search on itunes for podcasts about WoW you get like 10 or so and podcasts about Guild Wars there is only one active is Guild Cast by Shawn (Good Job BTW) we need more audio for the Guild Wars community. (If my English was any good I would make one myself )

This is not a new idea. Check out Guildcast.com. It's a podcast but you can listen to it right on your computer if you dont have n iPod. They have 21 episodes so far. It's very informative and entertaining. Not trying to hijack the thread. Just sharing for those who are interested. I have absolutely nothing to do with GuildCast by the way.

btw, GuilWars Radio has been going since Sept 2005 - with testing, and planning, we did launch, but it was rushed, and our server sponsor pulled out in Dec 2005 -

Phone ins and music would be great ideas, with like.. interviews with the top faces of PvP, and the live commentary you mentioned for regular shows. It'd be great to tune in while playing to grab the latest news without visiting the forums (and a greater variety of music than my 5 track playlist ^^)
