Prima Guild Wars Strategy Guide

To buy or not to buy? That is the question.

After heading out to my local Best Buy and flipping through the pages I would have to say the answer is "No". While Prima worked in collaboration with Anet to produce the guide it does not provide us with any information the community has not amassed already. Half the book is on skills. As we all know, gwguru has the best skill listing on the web. No, they don't have 100% accurate skills and don't have the locations for all of them, but their layout far surpasses all of the other cluttered sites. The guide is even more cluttered. It does not offer any solultions to questions we really care about such as the damage reduction on Knights armor, or how certain skills stack. Someone is bound to buy it and make any information in it available, but to spend 30 bucks on something just so you can read it on the bus isn't worth it. It lists collectors and items but the stats and locations are not detailed. Since guild wars is going to be a constantly evolving game I really suggest you stay away from the guide and stick to gwguru.

I got it and it didn't cost me $30 only $15, and I have found it very useful.
Yes there a things missing, and for those things I look to the message board. The fold out map is VERY helpful, and the skills section is also nice because it tells you what skills you can use together to create some good combos. Along with the fold out world map there are also detailed smaler maps of each section of the game, with locations of every NPC in that section. And in the back of the book it gives a big list of every quest and the rewards.

I recomend it......but dont pay more than $20 for it
