What to do with Old Armor?

Since its customized(and unsellable) and unsalvegable(at least everytime I try to), what exactly do you do with Armor? Seems sorta a waste just to dump it in and instanced area. Or am I missing something?

If you cannot sell or salvage it, throw it in the trash bin in your inventory screen.

Starting with post-searing, you'll be able to sell your armor to a vendor for about 1% of what you spent for it, but at least better than dumping everything in the bin.

Personally, I would prefer the option of keeping it, since some armors just look way too cool to be thrown away, but later in the game it's hard enough to keep enough free slots to allow such a luxury.

Is this new? I have always been able to salvage my armor with expert salvage kits. All, except the very first set of armor from pre-searing.

I think this is how it works: The starter armor you can't do anything with, the collector armor you can't salvage but you can sell to vendor (not 100% on this but I believe I've done it), and the crafted armor you can sell to vendor or salvage to regain some of the materials you used on it.

Well thats good. I was worried it was going to have to trash it when I upgrade next.

You can salvage your armor (at least before the most recent patch), as long as they are not the basic set you get from character creation.

If you put a rune on your armor, can you salvage it to get the rune back?

It worked last time I tried it.

The rules of salvaging runes do still apply, though. I had a rune of minor absorption in my old armor and tried to pull it out when I got my new armor and I lost the rune.
