How long until people move on?

Is GW a game that you can play for the next 5 years like UO and Diablo, or will people move on to a new game?

For me personally, the other night my frustration with passing the Frost Gate was beginning to make me question further playing. Then, by some stroke of dumb luck or favor of the gods (grin) I made it not only to Gates of Kryta, but all the way to Lion's Arch without dying ONCE. I got 9 yellow drops, and 4 purple one's, and my faith in the game and the fun factor was renewed 100 fold.

I see myself playing at least for 3 years. If not more.

wow 3 years, that's serious.

cool, my wait to play seems like it wont be so bad...

maby i'll try to join a guild community while i wait.

That is the best part about this game!

In games like EQ or WoW, every month you have to make a decision. Is it worth it to me to keep paying for this game? Because who wants to keep paying for something you aren't enjoying anymore? Eventually you quit.

But there is no reason to ever quit this game. They aren't charging you any more. This means someone can go off for a few months, play some other game, then come back to this one and fall in love with it all over again.

good PoV... makes sense, and i look forward to playing when most major patches are completed.

Well.. There are a lot of Missions in GW (+ all the quests and the *very* addictive PvP).. You can have fun in GW for a looong while..

And then, before you know it, there's an expansion adding even more..

i'm taking a good long look at Vanguard: saga of heroes

never heard of it, but i have heard of CoV, the expan. to CoH, schedilled for like noverbra or summat.

that's a pay-for-play tho, and free games are always more free than paid games.

well you can never really tell, my guess is that I will be playing all through the summer, till the good fall PS2 games are going to come out " FFXII, kingdom hearts 2" and more, so then i will take a break from GW then. and who knows, there is a good chance i will be back, mainly cuz NO MONTHLY FEE!!!!!!!
