Merged: Annoying "Chinese bots" in droks

i formally retract any complaint i had to the thousands of Mo/W's eating up our resourses...they were very friendly and were very willing to powerlevel both of my low lvl characters for free

This kind of comment typifies the community here in GW. Someone has a valid complaint or gripe against cheaters (yes using a proxy to play the game for you is cheating to all those idiots who say bot using isnt cheating) and comments flood in like this, saying we dont care, or we think its fine or some other irresposible imature bull.

Its a shame whenever someone has a complaint it is swept under the table and lost amongst the other posts.

Its also a big shame Anet dont take any part in these forums, even just a little comment like "yeah we know about it and we have a team working on anti bot scripts atm" or at least something other than the usual "we know about it and are looking into it but you paid for the game, and we agreed to provide fair servers for you to play on but why the frell should we tell you what we actually DID to sort it out, mind your own chuffing business and dont ask again cos your gonna get the same automated 'bot like' response from anet support."

Theres only one place this game is heading and it aint to diffrent from counter strike IMHO.

I don't accept the idea of making a real life profit 24/7 in a game where you suppose to have fun and relax. No matter if its a real player behind bot or a script program. But quoting Gaile Gray Cantha [March26th, 2006] post Devs are planning "Unpleasant deaths for farmer bots" ...whatever that exactly means it sounds very interesting.

When was the last time you met a friendly bot? If the so called bot was friendly and helpful, it wasn't a bot. I'm not saying that there aren't bots out there, but I think the majority of the 'bots' people see running out and farming are just people playing the game. They may not be your typical players, but they are players nonetheless.

Bots or not, if they are from the asain server (and not americans with asian names) coming over to the american server to farm then is that right? If the economies are seperate between the seperate servers then should it be alowed to have them taking from our economy to feed their own? How did they enter our servers anyway? Use a third person program to access it or buy an american account? How bad must their server be economy wise and farming wise for them to have to come over here? I suppose it doesn't help any that Nsoft's HQ is in Korea.

you can change your account 4 times to euro to american and so forth.

They're mostly in the International Districts. You cannot go into American Districts with an Asian account and vice versa.

Whats so bad about them? They just like to farm thats all... their playing style is different from non-farmers thats all. Also, it use to be so difficult to find perfect mods but now i can find and buy them cheaply. Win-win situation i see here.

He wasn't talking about the bots, to fill you in. Bots wouldn't accept an invite, they would just keep running. All these 'bots' you see are mostly just Chinese farmers who want to go about their business.

Don't know why any of you would find these people you call "bots" annoying. Yes, they farm for most of their day. Yes, they spam through the trade channels. If you don't want to see them, switch districts. They just do their own thing without even bothering anyone. If what they're doing is illegal, then let Anet handle it. I'm sure they will make sure justice will be done to the best of their effort (whatever effort they can give). Some of you would claim that Anet isn't doing their job just because these Chinese/Korean "bots" are still around, but are you claiming that assertion just because those "bots" are still present? We have just cleared up that a lot of them aren't bots; that they respond and play(farm) like regular people. So maybe some of you are claiming that Anet isn't doing the job just because these "people" are still around. R4C157, much?

It's a big disappointment really, to see some really idiotic responses in this thread where some people show little understanding of the situation and then go join the "Chinese bots are annoying" bandwagon. It doesn't matter if some of you were joking around, were not serious, or were serious when making your ignorant responses, because there is seriousness and discrimination lying somewhere in your words.

Besides, troll farming is crap. It doesn't matter how many people, who is farming them, or when they are farming them. If some of you are "annoyed" by the "fact" that these "bots" are ruining your chance of getting "quality drops", don't, because it's not a fact. If you want to farm trolls, no one's stopping you. Stop acting like someone is.

I know you dont get it and it seems you support these cheats.
They are very annoying being on our server for one.
They Spam the All / trade channels with useless and worthless overpriced crap.
They come up to you and force you to buy unid weapons and runes that are very overpriced saying you might get a Sup vigor or Absorsion for 6k,when every genuine player knows those runes only contain major runes on 95% of the time even if they are gold.

Simple lets keep them so they can ruin our economy and game.

Tonight i tested how many of these "bots" would allow me to join them. Almost every single one. You zone, they go about there business. Good way to get power levelled.

They also try to chat with you, god knows what it's about, but they try. Silly folk.

Yeah now that I checked it out they are almost all in the international district and I forgot all about being able the change country..and I say by the number of people chatting away there isn't that many bots (if any).

So using a proxy is cheating by GW's own description. Economy is not what it should be as so many idiots state "i dont care cos i can buy perfect items cheap now", or "i can get powerleveled by them so there fine by me".(at a great loss to gameplay as it should take a player hours to get these perfect mods but bots make them common and worthless)

Look at it this way - i dont cheat i dont use bots and i have spent over 1500 hours in GW and only ever found a small handful of greens, now my greens are worthless because of farmers making them common, so all my hard work and playing the game fairly gives me little or no reward when i finally do find a good item. How is it that so many players say bots dont affect them?? are you thick????

Yes they spam but not through trade channel, and if you took the time to go see instead of throwing your oppinions here without any kind of research you would realise they dont spam the trade channels, THEY SPAM LOCAL CHANNEL, they force anyone using the district to have to mute the local channel or leave - so you say if you dont like it change district - why the frell should i change district because of bot using cheaters spamming the local channel, why should spammers get priority over fair players?????????

ps. i dont care if the bots are run by chinese brits or americans, the fact remains GW/Anet does little or nothing to stop them other than nerfing areas weeks after they have been farmed 24/7, thus penalising fair farmers who actually dont use bots.

Why do you think there wont be a person watching the machines with bot programs running, ready to respond like a player if the bot ever gets questioned etc. (one player could watch a number of machines to make sure the bots are working and to make it appear like they are actualy real players). Maybe instead of blindly believing Anet are doing anything, but refuse to ever tell us what they have done you should use your head, take a look, do a little research etc. And return with an informed oppinion rather than one that seems is made purely to tell anyone who dislikes the fact that GW is plagued by bot users to go eat their own words cos their not bots at all, and they dont effect anyones game.

All Anet has to do is chuck in a mesmer or 2 among the trolls that will cause the real players to do some fancy fighting, and the bots will fail :P

Get serious. They don't force you to do anything. If anything, you don't get "it". These guys are just mostly regular farmers. They don't ruin our economy at all, I think you're just looking for a scapegoat. As far as I can tell, these guys have very minimal effect, if any at all. Aside from "forcing" you to buy a rune, what else do they do to ruin our economy?

Greens were meant to be decent weapons that almost any player could obtain, even the new players. If they weren't meant to be so damn cheap, Anet wouldn't have made S.F. so easy to farm.
