Questions about Crystaline Swords

A Crystaline sword is prolly one of the rarest items in GW.. Ive seen em being sold for loads of cash in the Trade section of the forum ..

But how rare are they? Ive never seen one Drop in fow.. Never seen a warrior use one..

I also heard that u can only get them from chests in fow, but ive done a few chestruns and never seen 1 .. Then i heard that you can only get them after Quests in Fow

Im a bit Confused Can any1 explain how to find them?

There's a chest that appears in UW after the ice king quest, a guildie of mine found a purple 12>50% crystalline there...and the chest that appears in the Hall of Heroes drops a crystalline now and then too

My guild leader got a 15^50 gold one out of a Talus Chute chest.

9 months ago, that might have been possible.. Today, try again

Been playing since launch and I only saw one drop.
It was about a month ago and it Dropped to a guildie from a chest in SF.

My guild leader got a plain purp from a Fow chest. They are realy, rediculously rare drops, but it happens.

Yes, there people that claimed they got or see 1 dropping from various shiverpeaks chest ( talus shute, snake dance, thunderhead keep ) ... and also in Sorrow Furnace ive seen people poster there got one out of miners chest !

I got all myne from the DDrift Chests, but there gone ... so the chance you will get one ... is like 1 on a 1000 chest runs or so

I had one i got in pre but it was really bad like 4-10

I had a 12-18 or some crappy damage purple one drop a long time ago from the bugged Divinity Coast Barrel. Also got a few non-max white ones from FoW an even longer time ago.

They can drop from any Chest in the game apparently, but the code for them makes them incredibly rare and it basically never happens. I've also had a friend tell me he got one drop of a mob, but I'm not sure. Apparently they were farmable a while back.

1) No monsters drop them
2) Locked chests drop stuff that monsters drop
3) Certain items are dropped by nothing, dwarven axes, crystal swords etc
4) Unlocked chests can drop anything

I too have seen them drop from the Kilroy quest. I also got a Serpent Axe drop out of a chest there.
