Monk Protest: Drok's International 1
2 pages • Page 2
Whether or not a person is botting can only be accurately discovered by looking through logs, and even that isn't entirely reliable; Better bots often use variable timers to mix up actions to make a person's actions seem 'more human', and the static spawns in the game don't help.
The economy in a video game world, where the currency has little to no concrete backing, and high-end equipment can be gotten easily at fixed prices, means little to me as well.
However, I would hardly protest the ban of bots, regardless of the state of the economy.
What I will say is that I miss the days when you could hold conversations in the local chat and meet new people. Trade spam in the local channel is not unique to sellers, or spam bots, nor to any specifici region; However, as one of the rallying cries of people in Droknar's Forge was about taking back the local channel, that much I completely support.
The trade channel is labelled 'trade' for a reason. Whether it's Lion's Arch, Droknar's Forge, or Augury Rock, in American, European, Int, or any other region, there is no reason trade offers should be spammed so prevalently the way they are now across the local channel.
So if nothing else, I would love the idea of Anet taking action to give back the local channel to us.

I haven't been on. I don't know what's happening in Tyria. Please, add more next time and educate those who only have GWGuru to inform them. Too busy to play.

Sadly just a few minutes ago i was bored enough to mess with the farmers. I invited every one of them to my party. Surprisingly alot of them accepted and when we got outside they just said "?" said some mumbo jumbo then went back in. I thought more of them would be bots. I did catch a few that were bots. You can follow them around and pick up drops. Its hilarious.

I find it highly ironic how everyone complains about the bots, but the first time they good a good drop, they're buying the perfect mod from a bot for a better resale of that item. Complain all you want, but remember that every transaction you make with one quantifies their existence.
Even more ironic is how many guru forumers hang out in LA1 and do nothing but spam All Chat with WTS messages.
"Hello Pot, this is Kettle. You are so black."

so very true

Well, i myself have to say its ridiculous.
I moved from EU server to US server just to be with guildies, and i was suprised to find that there are alot of chinese players (Or bots) on the US server, far far more than there are on the EU server.
So methinks these players are targeting you US guys and gals as victims for quick cash. But... the stupid thing is, the chinese that goes around the chat channels isn't even correct,
A) They have crap grammar
B) The sentences don't make any bit of sense due to the bot probably making a mess of the chat.
C) And who the hell is going to understand it even if it did make sense, with the exception of myself and a minority of others who can speak chinese..
I can't see the point of it, the US server is being invaded.

Of course, this assumes that Anet cares about trading spam in the local chat channel. I am not convinced that they see it as a high priority.

Stop trying to tar every player with the same brush. Just because you want to cheat doesn't mean everyone else does.
