How wouldn't it fit? There's nothing in the sore excuse for "story" in GW that says guns don't/cant exist. Guns(well, rifles really) worked fine in WoW.

If you meant seeing as its a fantasy game,'Fantasy' means damn near anything you want. This isn't any specific time period, and isn't much related to anything realistic.

Not bashing you or anything Dwight, just seems when an idea like this comes up in a fantasy game, some people seem to think this is Europe, 500ad..when there was dragons, ettins, imps and such...

You could argue that these would probably be old flintlock and blunderbus style weapons, and that they'd take forever to reload, but seeing as rangers have magic quivers, why not magic bullets?

***Oh, and I do really like the idea, sure I'm not the only one who's wanted a gunman type profession.

But you forgot WoW sucks:/

But I think they should add Quivers for the rangers and you could get fire arrows,Ice arrows or you could find a fire or a Ice arrow that would just put in your shield slot and it would work as the normal arrows but just deal elemental dmg

Yeah, but you have invisible bow strings for that

Anyway, if this was made, and they looked better than rangers(would'nt be hard), I'd make 2!

Forget WoW, if they had a Final Fantasystyle Gunner that'd be awesome.

Hey dont say Rangers look bad ^^well atleast the females look really nice, WoW sucks but there's nothing in Gw that has indicated that there are guns in this world, then they had to creates some storyline about that.
I'm pretty happy just with the Assasin and Ritualist

You wouldnt need a story line for guns...at the most, gunner mobs, like we have ritualist mobs.

May as well have a "story" to explain daggers, seeing as before assassins, all we had was the ogre slaying one.

Some help:

Actually, around the kind of "time period" the game is set in there were primative forms of fire arms that were more of a small, slow loading hand cannon.

Those who weilded these were usually the from the Middle East if I remember correctly and were called Arbalests.

A dual weilder won't work, but a hand cannon weild Arbalest would work fine if you did enough research and molded the storyline properly.

I applaud the attempt, keep tweaking.

How about "Big Fat Guy with Catapult on his back."

Mostly because I just don't want guns in GW...AND DON'T EVEN SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THOSE TURTLES!

I've always heard of arbalests as massive siege weapons similar to crossbows... hm. This sounds accurate, though; Arabia did have black powder first...
I personally think a gunner class would be interesting- maybe under a different name, as gunner implies that a turret is being employed. It'd be easy to work in to another chapter, too. Chapter Two, after all, takes place in a land somewhat like China or Japan, yes? It would be conceivable, then, that should a Chapter Three be made, the next land would be something like the Middle East (In which case, you could invert history and say that the Middle East had gunpowder before the Asian countries came across it), and introduce them that way, or perhaps introduce something like South America, with various tribal beliefs. Then Ascalon could become somewhat like Spain, and go and try to conquer them. And invent gunpowder to do that with.
My head hurts now.

gunner? wtf...sorry but this isn't one of those games for guns, like cod 1/2 or anyother type of war game or fps, what next a nucler (sp)biologist. to create different types of radiologicial, biologicial warfare? come on...just my 2 plat worth.

this isn't intended to be a flame but just don't fit imho in gw.

Guns are vastly different from biologists, though. They fit in with the time line, and some sort of technological evolution would be beneficial to the plot.
We're talking flint-lock, not m4.

It might help to stop thinking of Earth related countries in regards to a wholly made up civilization. Of course, there are and will always be influences abound, but what came from where and when, in Earth terms, is irrelevant.

No reasearch and could have four hands if ya want It's FANTASY!

Far as time periods go, since some people insist on looking at it that way(I too, remember grandpa's tales of mountain trolls) lookit our ships.
Looks like something round the same time period where guns were common, albeit still primitive.

Oh, and that Final Fantasy guy is a lil more 'metrosexual' than what I pictured, something more gruff and intimidating would be nice.
