I doubt if it's mastery-related... I only have 2 ranks in that hehehe.

Your pets seem to grow.

Is mine guaranteed to grow?

I got it level 2, now 6, I see no difference.

Maybe not had long enough,

Around what level should it get larger?

Is it actually noticable, or is it minimal change?

Regards, Ashleigh.

I'm not positive, but I think pets go through power increases (or something like that) at levels 10, 15, and 20. If you haven't renamed your pet by then, its name changes to reflect the new status.

As far I know, the pets dont actually grow in terms of time. Say you charm the pet at lvl 20, thats pretty much the size it will stay. But if you catch it at around lvl 5 when its quite small, as it levels up, it becomes bigger and bigger. At least this is what I think. Unless someone got some sort of evidence showing that pets grow up through time??

Hmm..

I named my pet Raven.

So, will the name ever change for its new status?

trust me when i say pets do NOT grow in anyway.
edit: looks like i may be wrong here, i cannot confirm as i am quite happy with my spider. please send picts.
Not true, i managed to get a wolf pre-searing. Ive got a hog at the moment.

I have however been trying to get a bear, does anyone know what level you have to be to charm a bear. Also, (pre-searing) NE of Ascalon there is a "Huge" Bull, he's massive... id love to be able to get him, but when i try it says "Not an animal" erm ? ...he is an animal ?

We should complie a list of all the possible animals, and what level you have to be to charm it.

EDIT: oops, others have shown they can get a wolf, should have read the rest of the post. hers a pic n e ways!

Heres a pic of the bull, this is from pre-searing. If he is this size now, imagin what size he could get to, if you could charm him that is..

Is there any way to swap between pets without losing your original one? I'd like to try a wolf or a bear but not at the expense of Mr Tiddles my trusty stalker....

Are normal wolfs( not snow) basically the same as snow wolfs?

Whats the difference?

Just looks? Or stats difference?

Are wolfs good tanks?

Do they grow big?

Thanks.

Regards, Ashleigh.

Yea it is... LOL (In reference to the funny avatar on the bottom of the previous page).

But pets definately get larger.... I released my Melandru last night, and acquired a Snow Wolf, but that Melandru was quite a bit bigger than when I acquired it. Looking forward to the growth of my new wolf pet.

Also; while a bit off topic.... Necro pets definately grow as well. Confirmed. Animate Horror at LvL1 (0 DeathMagic) is about 2' smaller than my character (large height).... At current level 13 (11 DeathMagic), my Animated Horrors are about 6" taller than I am.... biiiiiiiig difference. And it also makes them easier to target in battle

But yep.... they definately grow with "age". Enjoy!

I don't know the exact range, I tried it in those areas because it's not uncommon to have 2-3 other animals nearby, and I engaged the foes and dragged them to near animals to do it. I would guess that it's like Soul Reaping, a good portion of your radar.

As for sizes, it seems like monsters in general get bigger with levels - the model for the river scales in pre searing ascalon seems to be the same for the various ranks,(tad, scale, queen) and just scaled up by level, so I'm not surprised that it holds with the undead too, though that is neat.

Well, I completely forgot to get screenshots last night (too busy ascending, finally LOL) - but I got some just now while at work. Let me tell you, it is hard to get good shots of wolves outside Yak's Bend - the damn dwarves are too thick, they end up killing the wolves before I can get good shots.

Anyway, here's a couple - this first one my wolf Chopper is on the right, while the regular wolf on the left is attacking me (oops, ignite arrows hehe).

This shot is Chopper standing over the corpse of one of his relatives....

I haven't been playing my Necro/Ranger much lately, but after seeing that spider, I'm going to definately be advancing him further. I think he's just about at the gateway to Kryta... so I have quite a ways to go before 'underworld'... don't I?

Well, thats prove snow wolfs grow.

Will my normal wolf grow, the one I tamed in pre-searing?

Regards, Ashleigh.
