I don't usually do this but...I love you lol...nice cultural reference there. And I'm gonna go try with my axe build, might fail miserably, but hey, no shame in trying. The shame lies in the posting of the video of me dying.
I managed to kill the queen solo, but it took *far* too long to be worthwhile. I brought apply posion along for the boss, since it isn't too bright when it comes to using CoP. Has anyone else had any luck? It feels like the best thing to do is force a CoP, and I can't think of a better way than apply posion.
.
dont even have to kill the scarabs...you can lure them over to the griffon boss and he'll do it for ya
i tried diversion to no avail....ended up 2-manning it with a build like this:
axe 15
strength 11
tactics 8
inspiration 4 or so
distracting blow (the generic one)
distracting chop
skull crack [e]
berserker stance
executioners strike
peretrating blow
healing sig
physical resistance
i got the boss down to about 1/3 but then my concentration slipped and i started missing my interrupts so she healed back up and i quit.....took too long to be fun, thats for sure *chuckle*
maybe a sword would work better? i dont use it so i dont know...the key is this. she will cast guardian 2 swings after you distract (generic) the first one so if you go *distract...swing...swing...skull crack* you will hit her second guardian and daze her.
from there its a battle to use the 3 distractions to stop RoF (really hard, even dazed) and mark of prot....this build is pretty difficult to maaintain on her so id welcome any improvement
if you want to 2-man kill her, just bring a condition ranger and a bleed attack and its pretty easy along with this build.

Oxymoron. Skill and Farming don't go together. Not a whole lot of strategy involved in ANYTHING PvE based, sadly.
You discover a build. You go out and farm. All enemies react the exact same way. You continue farming till the area is nerfed. You discover a new area. You discover a new build. You farm.

The real question is what is the point in farming scarabs? They don't really drop anything special, and you can probably find an easier group of enemies to farm. Ok so you want to get the new green to sell it? Also a waste, since the new green is depreciating in value as we speak. By the time you actually get one, even if you get one, the price will be so low the time it took to get it wasn't even worth it.
Besides the "sheer excitement" of a new farm area, what else is the point to farming these?

Actually I find the scarabs can give better gold drops than the griffons ever gave me. I got an axe with a +30 health mod and on the same trip another of our 3 man group got one as well.
cheers

insulting yes..
is what he said true? yess..
lets talk about fissure of Woe.. as an example that their is no skill invovled.
all the monsters follow the same exact patrol path every single time you enter fissure of woe.. therefor remeber these movement patterns makes it very very easy. leading to no stratigy invovled except killing.. which is just click and click skills...
Now if they did change the movement patternes of ai.. i would have to disagree with myself.
with the success in farming what you think is immposible to farm.. its strat to do it for the first time.. next time when u get better and better, it becomes more skill rather then strat... or "farming" if u wanna say that,

LOL. You just said there was no skill involved (read the above post) and then in the end you say that its more skill than strategy.
EDIT: About the apply poin... Interesting idea, will have to try... But oviously not on the scarabs. They spawn in groups of three now, more than at first... I think that they are changing it to keep people from fguring out a build... perhaps... will post again if I manage to kill the queen.

I did about 20+ runs yesterday.
1)N/MO, N/ME, Healer Monk <------------fastest and best run (echo ss and mm totally raped the entire map with their dmg) *bring dark bond and spam heals on your minions and you can tank til the cows come home assuming you have a large army considering the massive amounts of corpses a mm can potentially achieve in this location*
2)N/MO, W/MO, Healer Monk <---------- successful but rather slow to my taste
3)N/MO, R/MO, Healer Monk <----------- same as going with a warrior, slow to my taste
4)N/MO, W/MO, Prot Monk <--------- life was easier with a healer
5)Gonna try other combinations and also I am the N/MO by the way.
