Classic Arena

Ever wish you could go back to a point where you could use skills the way they were a long time ago or where you could bring 1 skill from a third class again?

I think they should make a new random arena that uses older skill sets and mechanics (mapwide NR's come to mind)

This would give older players a blast from the past and newer players a chance to see what the game was like and how far it has came.

Strength based healing sigs, nonelite hundred blades with IW and swords with build in speed boosts, working energy drain, good ole smiters and other builds that have been nerfed into submission.

I would love to see this, but it would prolly be hard to bring back an older build of the game in just one area.

lol that doesnt mean you cant say if you like/hate the idea :-P

well i have been nerfed into submission for build-making. stuff was literally nerfed the day after i thought up something and told nobody. if this came to pass maybe i could test out my hoard of notes on such builds instead of wondering if it ever would have worked

Anet should totally re-open the E3 event area.... the good ol warrior fry by the lighting... the skill gems... and the pre-nerf knockdown.. the good times

I never played those builds, partially because I have no talent in putting a build together, so I never really felt the effect of these nerfs. But I still think it would be cool idea, I could go and get a feel for the older skills. Its got a kind of "walk down memory lane" nostalgic feel to it.

I wonder, as we get skill balances each championship season, etc, that it'll become formalised, so they can go, "Let's play a match under 2005-06 season rules." etc.

Hopefully stuff like that does come out. Even if its just in certain arenas for no reward or whatnot. (I can see faction still being okay since its a level playing field)
