Relisting Items ?

I just wonder how people here feel about this, Last night I bid on a item, it was a good deal on a rare bow, and I bid well over the minimum bid, which was 1000, I bid 2000. There was 3 hrs left on the bid, I went to bed thinking I most likely got a new bow. Now I find the item has been relisted for another 2 days, my bid is still the only one, so I retract my bid, I aint waiting 2 days for a bow I may be able to buy in game today, a bow I kinda need mind you(dont have a decent long/flatbow for my ranger). So I retracted my bid with a polite note to the seller.
The only reason I bid on the bow was because there was only 3 hrs left in the auction and I stood a good chance of winning said bow.
I dont think I should be on the hook if a seller decides they want to wait a few more days, to try and get more money. I would never do that, and I sell items regularily. As far as Im concerned it aint a auction if you decide at any time to relist and go for more time. So what do you all think. I know from now on Im taking screenshots of auction times, its too easy for the person to just say, oops I hit the button, didnt mean too(He/she still has the power to close the auction at any time, so any excuse, don't wash with me). Thx, please keep flames, rants minimal.

The auction most likely had a reserve. You did not meet the reserve price so the auction relisted. That's a bug we are still working on where your bid carries over into the relisted auction.

Pretty sure I met the reserve, Had to go check the auction.....srry. The item has a minimum bid, no reserve, the minimum bid is what I bid, person decided they didnt want to sell for that much.

Sents, once there is a bid on an item that auction is locked and cannot be modified, from the description, to the ending time or the price. The only choice a seller has is to close the auction.

Send me the auction link and I'll look into it further though. Just to cover all the bases.

Must've just been an oversite or something, because they just contacted me in game, and apologised for the mixup, and sold me the bow, no problems, sorry for the alarmist att.

One final note on this little saga, funny thing tonite I was playing and someon contacted me about an auction I had listed, which I had closed(there were no bidders), as it turns out the item was automatically relisted, probably what happened to the person who had the bow(the above mix up), was that Guru automatically relisted it. So I had t explain to someone who wasnt very happy that I had in fact closed the auction the other night, and it has been running for the last couple days unbeknownst to me. This could lead to big problems, thankfully it was only Illyanas staff and I was able to tell the poor sould where he could probably find one at a suitably cheap price, after all I gave mine away, after tiring of trying to sell it, and not wanting to sell it for 500g(to someone whos just going to try to remerch it), Id rather give it away, so I went to Ascalon and made some mesmers day(I hope).
