Which profession(s) deals MOST damage?

Profession or primary/secondary combo

I thought Warriors dealt the most but i picked up some kind of bow and did more damage with it instead of a sword? (This was when i was like lvl 2'ish)

I'm wondering if i gain more stronger weapons (for warrior) as i level up? or will i always deal more damage using a bow etc?

Also, im having problems choosing a secondary profession, any recommendations on DEALING the MOST damage? That all i'm really looking for, thanks~!

hands down the elementalist (fire or lightning) will do the most damage per spell. mesmer spells such as empathy and backfire are also good at taking away hp. however keep in mind you will be very fragile.

ahh yes and there are always necros for dealing damage over time.

...which is why you have to qualify your question, i.e. "which profession does the most damage over X time?"
