Well we all know that Anet (and everybody else) is against botters, thats simple, and very fair (i agree with it), but what is anets policy on macros for fair use?
for example, i would love to make some macros to do the following:
Teamsay:
Watch the Aggro!
Lure them
Experianced , Freindly Domination Mesmer LFG
I have equipped: Domination, Empathy.........(etc)
and so forth
used to do this back in ut2004 with the games built in scripting, was a vast aid to teamplay
does anet have a zero tolerance stance? or is fair use ok?

Damn thats a real shame
already had some great ideas (for example, one that presses F12, then enter, then my password, then enter easy character change)
i cant see whats wrong with it though, i'm not using it (and have no intention of using it) to cheat/gain an unfair advantage , im using it to stop anniyences in the game (why oh why do i have to logout to change characters :P)
spose i'll shoot anet an email anyways

without having to log in/out as it's pretty annoying most of the time.
I feel a poll of some sort coming along,

You won't need to enter your password when you run Guild Wars When you press F12 and log out, you will be brought back to the character selection screen. |
You have a point Keyote but proving what "some" of them are up to is another story,
.
And not all of them are botters, i for one still farm there some days when i need some
cash, although saying that, some of them do stand out more than others!...
Sometimes it's very hard to tell whats human and not,

there are still very many good uses for macros thought, we shouldnt ban kitchen knifes because somebody might get killed (who will anyways), why should we ban macros because some people bot (who will anyways)
ah well, isnt my game, anets choice

and how many PUGS use or even know of teamspeak? (plus with a group of 8, less needless info on the channel the better, dont want everyone talking at once
also, binding /dance /wave ect , lazy yes, usefull yes (i use them a lot)
still havent seen a counter argument to using them (aside from anet says, just say no!) , only inferior solutions
oh and btw, somebody in england tried to get it passed as a law (knifes) a few years back, needless to say, it never found its feet

and go to GW.exe it opens up the game.
O
Right click your GW shortcut and where it says target, add the writing that is shown in the above posts...(and of course put in the password) and when you start Guild Wars, it will go straight onto the character selection screen (or Connecting... if it needs to)
I just tried it, and thanks for the info! BTW, this is safe isn't it? No one can obtain my password through this? (Sorry for my computer noobiness, I'm just making sure my account doesn't get robbed :P) I would suspect not, but I don't know.
Thanks,
Optime
