Why hasn't A.net done anything? I was hoping a game where people can just join in easily and help the casual gamer, but instead it's the same crap as before: only this time assassins will be spamming for hours as well as mesmers and rangers.

did you hear there would be changes and rebalancing AFTER the tourney?

that means not yet as it still is on going.

this event is to get data on what needs changing (spirits maybe?) before retail.

this is an initial look at a work in progress not the final product.

give them some credit for not only repearing an error but bringing it back stronger

Well they DID give you the chance to practice killing an IWAY team whenever you want to..

two words 1 template 2 profs warriors bane have this guy in youre team and iway would be like a kitty VS a nuclear warhead

What they can do if most of the players don't bother to learn how to encounter them? Should they lower difficulty bar until everyone have just bare hands which do 1-1 dmg?

IWAY means more health regeneration and attack speed per dead ally. Spiteful Spirit? Empathy? Evade? Block? Slow down attack speed? Slow down moving speed? Learn them or die by IWAY. Just like against any other teams if you don't know their weaknesses.

Since the IWAY team is now part of the AI teams in the arenas I doubt they will be nerfing IWAY now. It's a pretty fun AI group to go up against too. Glad to see Anet agrees with IWAY the way it is. (smile)

I don't get why people are always whining about IWAY, I never play PvP and even I know how to counter their strategies, even if IWAY is nerfed they'll just fine something else to whine about say say how it's ruining tombs....or heroes ascent whatever it is now.

Yeah lets nerf Spiteful Spirit instead, I think it's too powerful. (smile)

To the OP - Go watch some matches in observer mode, especially regionals.

How many of those teams use IWAY? Yes, its SO OVERPOWERED that its not used by the best guilds.

trappers with interrupts are the best group i've seen so far for the elite challenge...of course a real IWAY team wouldn't rush into 20+ traps and die instantly

Let IWAY stay, it's not like it's not EASILY beatable. And you don't have to cripple your own team to beat IWAY either. Jesus christ.

Sympathetic vissage - Warrior's hell (as with some other hexes + blind). Check out what does the skill. ONE SKILL can counter ~ 4,5 focused wars. Keep in mind there are LOT MORE skills that cripple physical attacks.

Am I the only one who was glad to see Anet put an Iway team in the Zaishen challenge? IMHO I think they implemented it so people would/could learn how to counter Iway in game instead of in forums. And to be frank, I thought it would end alot of the moaning about how overpowered it is. Sadly it isn't so.

So here's a specific build for all the lazy people who seem to still have problems going up against them. I use a necro/mesmer here it is:

Suffering - mass hex small degen
Enfeebling blood - causes weakness
Shadow of Fear - Mass hex slow down
Archane Echo
Feast of Corruption <elite> spike and small health buff
well of suffering or putrid (for corpse control as well as small spike or field control)
your choice
your choice


First Tip: As seen in alot of PVP matches when they go after your monk .. wait for some to ball up when they attack and then rinse, lather, and repeat as necessary. Watch the flies drop and your energy surge. Fun fun fun!

Second Tip: If you really feel it's rampant and can't stand going up against it why not invite someone into your team for Iway control. On a decent team you only need 1 person to make an Iway soldiers day really bad.

IWAY is very great, though, experienced IWAY groups don't excist, so why whine about IWAY?

I happened to use tainted flesh with well of suffering and Enfeebling Blood. I think corpse explosion was in there too. I can play with corpses better than they can.
