Can Guild Wars run on Windows 8?

As I'm buying a new laptop in the near future, I have a hard time deciding which operating system I should pick. I'm playing both Guild Wars 1 & 2 and I read that while GW2 is not supported under Win8 yet, it for sure will be within a couple of months. But has anyone had any experience when it comes to the original GW? It might be ignorant to even consider this option, but I don't want to find out that our oldie but goldie is unplayable under such modern circumstances.

I play two accounts dual screen full HD on Win 8 Pro on my laptop. GW has such low requirements
Officially GW1 doesn't even support Windows 7 I believe but I have never seen any glitches on nor 7 or 8.
If there's glitches it's more likely due to bad drivers than the game itself.

Well like the other poster I have been running both on win7 & 8 with no hiccups whatsoever so would not worry to much in that respect

And it works great on Ubuntu also, so worse comes to worse, you can install a free OS and play that way.
