bday event

no weekend event announced till now, do u guys ''smell'' the bday event this weekend?

I believe it is not supposed to be untill next week... so I for one am not counting on it for this weekend.

yeah both are probably going to happen at the same time, however, the bwe is only a weekend while the bday event is usually a whole week--so you should be able to do both (if you have the bwe access).

as for the "still no announcements" i've seen this a few times lately, probably due to GW2 beta coming and 7th anniversary

I'm with Warbog on this one - checking the past years weekend events leads me to believe that after the two "arena" bonus weekends we will have a special drop weekend next. It may be a bit early, but since they added a few extra days for choco bunnies and eggs, they could be planning two full weekends of cupcake drops.

If it will just be on the beta weekend, then I guess I won't be getting any cupcakes...

Surprised us with eggs and bunnies on a monday so dont count any day out. Also they want people to finish homs and stuff so they will be more inclined to buy gw2. Cupcakes are a great way to make money/trade for stuff. Though after the eggs fiasco I think cupcake prices are going to be lower this year. Many paid 12-14e+ a stack on eggs during the event that lasted a week with d3 and gw2 around the corner lol.

Major events they always announce late.

Regular weekend events are always announced on Tuesdays, and most major events are announced on Thursday. This is standard procedure.

A few major announcements have been delayed until Friday, though, when they try to keep a special surprise secret for a little longer.

bday should be on the 28th's week
the live team just abandoned gw1, simple as that.

It would be "nothing new here" if the announcements fell into their ususal patterns. But for the past two weeks (since the live went to work on GW2), they've been wayyyy out of what's been the norm: 1. Starting the Easter drops before they made the announcement and 2. Not making an announcment for last weekend's event at all.

Either someone from A-Net takes a moment or two away from GW2 to make sure the "automated" weekend events get posted, or the players figure it out for ourselves once the weekend arrives. That being said, this coming weekend should be either AB weekend or the Anniversary weekend. I'm guessing it'll be ABs this weekend and the Anniversary the following weekend, with the possibility of an early start for the Anniversary. (fingers crossed)

I think all us gw players should get anet a calendar program which they can mark event dates on.Yes i know i always moan about events being unnannounced but after a few years of goofing up and with new players comming to gw - you would think they would announce things.
I cant work out how they fail with announcements - surely someone in charge knows when an event is , then somehow it doesnt appear on logins or even on their website ( oh i forget website is being redisigned - so i doubt they`ll add a calender for events ) is there a serious problem with keeping anet staff informed of events ?
Is gw2 going to be eventless - or as it seems with gw1 , no announcement of events at all and everyones left guessing.
On a jokey look at things - maybe all gw players should send support a ticked asking when events are ?

Seriously, I just hate you Anet for this really bad planning.

I'm pretty sure they intended to have them on the same weekend. They don't care about GW1 any more so they are more than happy to siphon off attention from the original to the sequel.

Why?

Birthday events usually last a week, BWE is only the weekend:
-Play GW2 at the weekend
-If you have another computer, GW1 AFK in rings all weekend
-AFK in rings at night
-AFK in rings weekdays, during the day if you have work/college/school
-Gamer weekdays, just the evenings if you have work/college school

Or just forget about this particular BWE. There will be more to come.

I think the bday stuff will probably begin mid next week (either tuesday or thursday--hard to figure from past bday events) and cover the weekend and possibly into the following week----

and has been mentioned, you can have your gw1 characters afk while you sleep too....and then join in the bwe on the weekend when you are available for it. So bday during the week and bwe on the weekend!

wondering if anyone else has noticed this: last week there was no weekend event announced, this week there is nothing, does this mean no more weekend events? i saw that the live team left, but i didn't think that had anything to do with weekend events
