After reading this http://guildwars.incgamers.com/blog/...ntalist-update i'm afriad for my elementalist, my first character. Every time they tinker with skills because of how they're used in PVP they ruin the skills for use in PVE.

Leave Invoke Lightning alone damn it!

That's true. They should treat PvP and PvE skills seperatley when revising them. Because let's be serious, 80% of times a skill is nerfed is because of PvP'ers.

As for PvE farm exloits and clears etc... why not just tinker with the game enviroment, or creatures, instead of skills? Is it more tasking? I don't know anything about how they make games so...

The update does the contrary, actually: almost every single skill is going to be changed with PvE in mind, and even the PvP community has been vocal about how it might make PvP worse. So if anything, you should be happy.

Invoke/ Chain Lightning and Freezing Gust are the exceptions, yes. And even then, the current version of Invoke is probably going to be overshadowed by the new elites. That, or the 5-exhaustion will probably not make a big difference, unless you load your bar with more exhaustion skills as well.

o_O let em make more pvp-pve splits

pvp and pve are too different to balance at the same time, which is why pve-only skills and pve/pvp versions of skills have been made

let them do it with any skill, to prevent an angry GW community like i've seen many times before, just cuz of the dead (compared to years ago) pvp balances, pve also suffers

even though some find pve too easy, it doesnt count for everyone, especially those who dont copy/paste pvx builds (or from any other player) like myself
not to mention roleplaying builds, like making builds based on a character you made up yourself (like lightning... maybe pikachu, lol, just example )

note: sure, most good builds are on pvx, and can be made by others without looking at pvx, but i dont copy/paste

with these new eles, we'll get a chance of using them effectively in pve, but i hope its all elements, and not overpowering pve foes
they make HM softer to eles (maybe to others with dmg skills which are based on foes armors aswell) but the most used ele elemental is fire

what i'd like to see are good changes to air and water too
and i also like to see more pve/pvp splits, so that each mode can stay unique in its way, and balanced of course

go anet, you showed us you can balance the game with splits, it made me happy, and may do again if you do it well once again

ps. my ele is a bit rusty, but with good updated skills, she'll come back after years (just used her for z coins, event quests and bit of storage... which i may buy once again... the tabs that is (can buy 2 more )

i'll wait and keep an eye on the forums

The change to Invoke in PvE should be negligible, since they added the reduced exhaustion mechanic. I'm not sure why exhaustion makes players panic. Your maximum energy doesn't matter as much as your current energy, and your rate of expenditure versus recovery.

If the update sneak peak is true then eles will be the most overpowered class in a game of already overpowered classes. The only thing to fear PvE-wise is enemy Eles in HM absolutely raping your whole group with the new Gust and Starburst.

I can see our poor ele heroes suiciding themselves for an attempt at Star Burst, right as the battle starts and even before they need the energy gain, which makes me wonder, how good can SB be on 60 DP heroes, despite the large damage. Gust is, what, Psychic Instability with weaker KD and added-in AoE damage?

Of course, until we actually test things, it's hard to know, but the new skills don't seem to be much stronger than the old SF/ SH elites for PvE, just different.

Double Dragon, though, if it connects two times, and with EBSoH, might be way too strong.

I'm also curious how the proposed changes will affect certain enemy groupings, for better or worse. Still, it will give me a much needed excuse to change my heroes and skills again, and I always like fooling around with new builds.

Invoke Lighting and Chain Lightning will always cause exhaustion. My air build is being rendered useless. Thanks John for ruining Guild Wars for my first and favorite character, you stupid jerk.

If I don't have energy when my spells have have recharged I can't use them.

They're adding cracked armor, the most useless condition to some skills. That's supposed to improve ele too I suppose.

Thunderclap and Ride the Lightning are having a damage REDUCTION.
