Transferring Items (and IP address question)

I'm preparing to make a new Guild Wars account (on a separate master account) and I have quite a lot of items, ecto and plat that I need to transfer. Any tips on how I should transfer stuff between my accounts to avoid getting flagged as RMT? Would it be better for me to transfer directly between my accounts using 2 computers on the same network (same IP address), or to have an irl friend (different IP address, same neighborhood) help me with the trades? Should I trade everything at once, or stagger it across many days, etc?

Also, how vigilant is NCsoft about IP addresses in general? I'm currently on vacation out of country and worried about whether logging in (GW and/or account management) from another country will get my account in trouble.

Thanks >.>

I always do drop trades (go into an explorable, drop the items off one account, pick it up on the other) using a multi-launcher (so both accounts running form the same IP and even computer). Have transferred over 3000 gold items between my two accounts (finished wisdom on one, pushing it on the other) and have never been flagged for RMT ^___^

Alot of people have multiple accounts... I think it would look more suspicious if you were to log on from a different ip and transact.

You know you can run 2 accounts at same time on same computer.... do that....proving you own both accounts isn't gonna be a problem...

I have transfered a good number of ectos from one account to another via drop trading its the safest way to do it.

As for ip addresses. Today alone I have logged on via a hong kong address and Amsterdam and london. I do this quite often and have yet to get in any trouble.

I have multiple accounts and trade from the same ip...if in doubt I give me something stupid as a place holder (a bone, victory token, candy cane etc) so that its not one sided. And my husband and I have been trading for almost 6 years now with no problems (yah same ip).

sometimes I talk to myself (in chat)...hi self, how are you today? I am fine self..and you..just fine...did you see ----....yeah silly

If you are in the same guild, running from the same IP address, there should be no problems. To be interely sure you could even name your character on the new account something like "<ingamename>'s mule".

As like others I have used multi launch for years and I always have went into an explorable area

I just enter in chat ..tranfering to other account and do the trade.

that way its in your log ...never been bothered with anet at least you have a log to verify its your account.

Only thing is..seperate master account ect and if its the same isp then should be fine.just in case it comes back to haunt you

I registered my 2 accounts in the same ncsoft master account and start 2 guild wars copies with gwmultilaunch. I trade freely between the 2 accounts with the ordinary trading dialogue. No problems in the past 2 years. At the beginning, I only traded up to 50p per day or items of equivalent value, but these days I simply trade whatever and as much as I want to trade.

wow I didn't expect so many responses overnight xD

I'm aware of the multi-launch, but I try to avoid using extra programs (yes, I know it's safe and won't get me banned.) Also not sure if my laptop can handle 2 copies of GW at the same time, lol. GW + any other game running at the same time makes me lag, no matter how graphics/CPU intensive the other game is. I'll see what happens.

I guess drop trading is the way to go, then. Thanks a lot guys.

I'm making the new account on a separate MA because I don't like having all my eggs in one basket so to speak. Hopefully having the same IP address and contact info will be enough to prove that it's still me (or someone living in the same house apparently.)

Really, you don't need to drop trade. Multiple times I have traded 100+ ecto to my other accounts with nothing in return and rare items and I have had no problems. I have been doing this for a couple years now too with 10+ accounts.

my husbands account is separate from mine --separate master accounts. Though we are in the same guild (the only ones in it). We run from separate computers and have traded freely since I started playing 6 years ago with no problems.
So as long as you have the same ip you should be fine...

Yes, when you have them all up. Try to minimize 1 GW while you play second one. That should work.

On the note:

Every 1-3 weeks I do exchange betweeen 3 accounts, and I never had any problem.

I've transfered via trade window stacks of ecto and 1000s of plat between alt accounts on the same comp and never had a problem in 6 years... Why I think anyone that says they got banned for transfer between thier alts is full of crap.

They are looking at IP address... one time I just showed a Chinese friend a few stacks of ecto and we both got banned... me for buying and her for selling... and they can go back and actually look at what went on... After I submitted a ticket asking them to look and see that no trade took place and we actually went on to do some missions... they promptly unbanned both of us in under 24 hours with no loss to either of us... from this I can guess that its based regional ip address and is automated in nature... Because i've never gotten banned for flashin cash prior to that.
