ok, i'll explain

in this topic people can make or share their own made challenges for GW
i saw alot of posts and threads with "game is too easy" but thats not the reason i make this topic, this is more about "can we make others happy by giving them ideas of making own challenges?"

i have my own, just 3 for now:

- in HM, just disable your heroes skills and die until you have 30 or maybe even 60DP, then use no consumables, and try to play the game that way
- addition to the 1st idea: don't use runes/insignia's
- last addition to this idea, in case its still too easy, but requires primary prof only: give yourself and all heroes a pet without pet healing

notes: you can use ranger as secondary prof, but again, dont use pet heals
and of course this can be done with more players in team, just let noone use consumables

i hope these ideas, and this whole topic, can make people happier with their own ideas and using other people's ideas of making challenges

i only mentioned pve, as pvp is hard enough as it is, as i've heard, and weakening your whole team in pvp would only bother the others, not only your team, but others too

well, good luck with making and sharing your own ideas of challenges

ps. sorry if i said something the wrong way, but its... 2:17 here midnight, i'm a lil tired

ps. again, i didnt mean to go against the people who think the game is too easy, i just try to help people with this, and let people help others

I had a lot of fun once using monster's builds for various activities. I would choose a group of monsters ingame (the undead in the desolation, for example), load my heroes, then load the builds of those monsters from wiki onto my heroes. It was kinda interesting to see what they have to put up with...

Lots of people do find the game "too easy." Simplest thing to do is go out with fewer heroes or hench until the difficulty seems about right. There is no other game where it is easier to set the degree of challenge to fit your personal skill level.

that sounds pretty damn cool man.

there are a ton of ways to challenge yourself with this game, less heroes, harder areas, funny builds.

Here's a challenge I've set for myself - achieve GWAMM with 0 deaths on a Prophecies ele. No storage. No tomes. No jumping campaigns to get heroes and imba skills. No runs. No money help from friends.

Currently in: Augury Rock.
Armor level: 51

The thought of that grind literally just made me exit GW lol.

Pretty much this, although not that extreme. I'm "only" doing GWAMM without 0 deaths. I am allowed to cap elites for the XP, I can use PvE skills, etc. I only can't do the very "unfair" stuff, like hiring a mission runner or doing a vanq with a friend, 'cause I wouldn't be able to complete it alone. I'm playing pretty much only with heroes on that character.

On each player/hero bar:
  • Bring a maximum of 4-6 skills
  • Don't bring any energy management skill
  • Don't bring any elite skill

I do like the "back to basics" challenges, (ie. no mercs, no heroes, no tomes, no running ahead for max armors). To actually try play through a campaign as it was originally designed. Only capping skills as you go along and use the armors and henchmen you meet along the way.

I do like the idea of only using "monster bars" as well as long as it's limited to a single group of encounters (like desolation undeads). Preferrably to only use monster bars from within same campaign as well.

These are more natural challenges and makes more sense. The ones like getting close to ~60% DP as a challenge sounds a lot more silly and artificial.

I'm still wondering how this could be done. Foes outside of Ascalon are level 3-4 and xp gained via quest rewards is laughably small. Basically, there's nothing outside of Ascalon that will give xp when you kill it. Assuming you're doing it with a LDoA character. The closest mobs that will give xp are in the North Kryta Province. And to get there, you need to enter at least one other outpost.

What am I missing? >_>

Monster bars: just use the wik/woc mobs, they're straight off pvx .

You can walk from Ascalon City to The Falls without entering an outpost.

Of course. There's caravan vanquishing from Temple of the Ages to Maguuma as well as the Northern Shiverpeaks and Ascalon, so you can do these places with a team of 8. If there were outposts you couldn't avoid, your party seize would decrease along the way.

There's only one area in Prophecies that cannot be entered with a team of 8; Watchtower Coast (the whole of the Crystal Desert too if you don't have Nightfall).
Since both The Falls and Ascalon can be entered with a team of 8 that left from the Temple of Ages and ToA only has one exit, it follows that Ascalon and the whole of Maguuma are connected via a path that does not go through any outposts.

This was something I've actually had to do a few times back when we only had 3 heroes. I would aquire a lot of DP making some massive mistakes during a dungeon run and would insist on pushing on without removals or any consumables.
The most memorable:
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/7...tshrinecam.jpg (I was shrine camped by one of the most threatening groups in Forgewight, so my whole team had at least 30 DP)
http://imageshack.us/f/715/forgewightcleared01.jpg/

Obviously I didn't have to do the whole dungeon following that, but the most threatening group in that dungeon was still to come.

I wouldn't mind doing that, but I lag too much to pull it off, heh. Hooray for lag

Yeah, that the whole point: You basically have to *get* to place which has foes with high enough levels. And walk there again if you start new session.

There are other mini-challenges:

* You can only have L3 henches.
* Your best armor is outside sanctum cay, before that, you have to stick with pieces from collectors.
* You are quite constrained with skills availalable (only applies when you have new account without unlocks)
* If you take tougher version of this challenge and do not interact with NPCs inside ascalon city, you are going to be undersupplied with pretty much everything - id kits, skills, armor upgrades, alesias...

Best thing ever for you is fire imp summoning stone.

Also, you could be lucky, have nick visiting and cash some consumables, summoning stone or even max equipment!

This would be my suggestion. Instead of using Spirit-way, Discord-way, and Mesmer-way, use only the henchmen found in each outpost, and beat every mission in Hard Mode. That means without heroes.
