Once again we will be providing commentary on the GvG Monthly Automated Tournament and it'd be great if you'd stop by and observe the play-offs with us! This is a great way to understand how GvG works, meet some top players, and ask questions. We'll be taking questions in the stream chat AND in the #gwgpickup channel on IRC.

If you are unable to come or miss parts of this event, the entirety is being recorded for your convenience and a link will be provided once available.


IRC channel information:

You will need a program like xchat or mIRC to get into the channel, and both of those websites have setup guides. The channel info is as follows:

For those of you who would prefer to not install a client, you can use the available web client (just change the included channel to #gwgpickup).

Definatly worth it for anyone interested in GvG! Also, is the limit fixed on justin tv?

Is there somewhere I can view all th previous commentaries? I always mean to watch them live but due to timezone differences this isn't really feasible.

Just want to give yet another thumbs up for the effort, and encourage everyone to tune in.

Will the VIOP server that the commentators will be using be public like it was for the first two sessions? Mainly for those who have technical problems viewing the live stream or would rather manipulate the in-game camera themselves since there is a minute'ish delay between the live stream and the game.

We'll be using vent again this month. We discussed mumble vs. vent and we decided that we would like to give vent another shot.

Some old games are on youtube as well as archived on the justin.tv servers.

Yep! The first few months are on Apok's YouTube channel. The rest will be automatically archived on justin.tv.

Great news, guys! I have tuned in every month so far.
Unfortunately, I have other RL plans, but I will be tuning in afterwards!

Will there be any commentary on the Guru Mumble server? Last month I hit some lag a few times during the streaming and got behind quite a bit with all the buffering and stuff.

Hope there's not going to be any PC issues this time around, but ASP is pretty good winging it

We do not have plans to use Mumble for this month. If you miss part of the commentary, you can always go through the recordings later!

Ye, thanks, that's what I did last month. It kinda loses the Live aspect to it though...
TBH, I liked it more when Mumble was used, as you could tune in, and sync into the live match, which would at most be either the same as the commentators or anything from a few seconds to a minute out, it still had a much more interactive / live feel to it... but yes - the obs limit sucks, so I understand why the live streaming is being done, even though it is less interactive, from a viewing perspective.

I saw something about vent higher up - is this only for use by the commentators during the matches, iow. people cannot tune in?
