Web Addresses in All Chat

I've heard that you're not allowed to give web addresses to sites in All Chat. But, I still see some sites advertising there site with the web address in All Chat.

Can anyone explain this?

they are usually gold/ecto sellers and they switch around so fast its hard to /report them. they are breaking the rules on purpose, and should be banned.

I'm not referring to the gold sellers. I'm talking about other sites, Radios & auction sites in particular.

Who is gonna bother typing the whole URL manually...

I have heard that some fan sites are allowed to give thier URLs if it is in relation to an ingame event.

The only radio site ive seen advertised is blade radio which itself is a community radio station which also does several ingame community events - bar them ive not seen any others except the goddamn gold traders every now and then. Anet should insert (with help from us players via screen shots ) a way to disallow any gold traders website being shown - eg www.gwplayersbuygold.com would display as message unable to be shown .
Auction sites i dont think ive ever seen but i do have a big habbit of not sitting in outposts for longer than a few secs ( i always seemed to end up in the ones with kids acting just like kids and i want to get out asap lol ) or i have local off.

Only ones I've seen are blade radio and another one which I can't remember the name of (it was more like a community thing), seemed really interesting on the web site but required registration, always puts me off, last thing I need are more id's and passwords

Gold sellers = I pay them the same amount of respect and attention as the "You have been playing for x hours, please take a break!" messages

OP, not sure how THEY do it, but usually in alliance/guild chat people will post a build but the name of the build will be a you tube address etc. for copy pasting. Other times it's the 'poke the baby' build

Its actually quite easy but can be restrictive if link has too many letters - use normal method for getting a build up with the send/save options under , and just change build name to weblink and send to chat .Eg if your builds name is 100b warrior - just change that to www.guildwars.com and others open the template and copy paste link to browser.
