What are some of the best q8 canthan skins you can still get by farming places on Nm? Where can I acquire them?

All shields, foci and most of the swords can still drop in q8. Chest running in Pongmei Valley is a great start. Could also farm vermins for celestials, crenelated etc. Good luck

That's nearly correct.

It doesn't matter if it's NM or HM, the only thing that matters is level of the drop source.

Level 24 cannot drop max gold req8s at all. Level 23 and lower can.

And chests in HM Minister Cho's are level 22, just like other HM Ascalon/Shing Jea/Istan chests. Unfortunately they also got a much much lower gold to purple drops rate than all other HM chests.

So, for example, it would be possible to farm q8 max golds on shing jea island, (even though the chance is slim) in Hm? Would the drop rate be the same as other places in Nm or Hm?

HM has increased drop rate of gold items so the likely hood of getting a q8 in HM from a level 23 or less mob is greater than NM. It's still slim mind you.

Anyone knows if there were any blue dualred shields back then?

How do you know the chests are level 22?

I believe there have never been a randomly generated blue shield with 2 inherent mods of any kind.

From analysis of recorded data of drops from mobs and chests that I got I'm 100% sure they're lower than 23 and 99% sure they're higher than 21.

A while back, (2+ years) Someone was selling an OS req8 Obby edge, 15^50. He gladly showed it to me as I was in disbelief, can't really pos a pic sense it was a long time ago, but does anyone know of these existing. The guy selling it claimed there were only 3 of them in the game i believe.

lies, no pics no proof, obby edges only drop as inscript, the only way they arent inscriptable is during deathbane bug hence no inherent, you claim its req8, req8s dont drop from fow end chest.

While I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that we're talking about an honest mistake/misremembering instead of intentional misinformation, I have to agree with the facts superraptors asserts above.

• The only known source of Obsidian Edges I've heard of is the Chest of Woe (the FoW end reward chest.)
• That chest has never been known to produce inherent-modded items, only inscribables or glitched items lacking either an inscription slot or an inherent mod.
• That chest did not exist in game before the Oct. 12, 2007 update, about a year after the Oct. 2006 updates around Nightfall's release that seem to have raised the lowest req. level for maximum damage gear. Elite ~mission end reward chests have never been known to produce items lower than req. 9.
• The specific skin, Obsidian Edge, was not introduced in the game until the Mar. 6, 2008 game update.

For all of the above reasons, I am extremely doubtful of the existence of either a req. 8 Obsidian Edge or an inherent-modded Obsidian Edge. I would even doubt screenshots unless they came from someone pretty well known and trusted. To believe it, I would probably have to see it in the trade window in game myself ... and take screenshots ... and then look at them again a few hours later to be sure I saw what I thought I saw. There's just so much information arguing against the existence of such a thing.


Are you sure he didn't show you, say, an r8 inherent 15^50 Shadow or Oni Blade maybe? Don't underestimate the power of suggestion - it's amazing what your mind can decide to believe it's seeing ... especially when it really wants to!

Does anyone know if any +10 demons shadow shield or eternal shields exist?

No, Demons only drops in Cantha. Demons, Ogres, Plants and Dragons are exclusive to Cantha, Tengu, Dwarves, Charr, Skeletons, Trolls and Giants are exclusive to Tyria, Undead can only drop in FoW or UW I think.

I got a plants warlord and an undead magmas, so both of these drop in prophecies

Okay so before I give up on my collection before I start it, are there any skins that can get every mod? I think maybe defender and tall shield. But not really a fan of defenders...

I see a like minded person. I have been working on a true complete shield set. The complete part meaning Dual Dmg Reduction and vs all species cantha/tyrian.

The skins I know off the top of my head are: Tall Shield, Crude Shield,Ornate Buckler,Wooden Buckler,Defender, Tower Shield, Shield of the wing, Aegis, and Skull Shield.

These are the only skins that can be a true complete shield set of vs species/dual reduction.

Although I'm quite disappointed in the way this was designed... There's only 1 skin in strength you can get all +10 mods for. Thats garbage! But it is what it is.

Do you guys think I should go for Aegis(or Shield of the Wing) or Tall Shield for my tactics set? ^.^ I'm excited to start shopping.
