Alright, I can't be the only relatively new player who is too intimidated to join up with an unknown group and go dungeon crawling or working through missions... sure, I'm lvl20 and finished Prophecies, but so is/has the guy/gal who has been playing straight through the last 24 hours... and so is nearly everyone else.

That doesn't mean I know what the heck I'm doing. LOL Or that I've got an amazing uberbuild, powerful weapons, tons of consumables and the experience to understand txtspk when someone is quickly telling me what they want me to do in the midst of us getting bombed by Fire Imps. I don't. Seriously. I don't.

I'd like to find a few other less-than-confident, still-learning, willing-to-laugh-as-we-die-and-try-again types to go (attempt to) kick some monster butt. People who are still puzzling out what the heck Sabway and Spiritway and Discordway are... but who are intimately familiar with OMGWE'REGONNADIEway, and find it funny when it happens. People who are at least capable of typing in relatively coherent complete sentences... or, alternatively, who have Vent since I've got a Vent server. Players who understand the value of doing something insanely crazy like say, oh I don't know, actually taking a minute or two to watch how the monsters move/group before rushing in? The world has enough Leroy Jenkins/Kilroy Stonkins, honest!

I don't care if you're young or old... but I'm going to be 40 this year, and I've already contributed three times to the next generation of gamers, each of whom goes to school/work in order to pay for their own gaming habit... so yeah, unless you want me to get all "mom-like" on ya, probably best if you either be older, or really really really patient with us old-types.

I'm an elementalist... I like fire... I'm learning to love my other elements. I've begun playing around with multiple secondary professions, and have learned a few neat combinations. In 48 days of playing GW, I've not yet found a single green item or an ecto, but I remain hopeful. I finished Prophecies, am ascended/infused, and am working on EotN. I've recruited all three allies, but got wiped repeatedly trying to help Jalis defend his dwarves. Still need to finish that eventually... LOL

I've got a lot of heroes... I think they're pretty good. Not great, but good. I don't have a lot of gold to blow yet, but I'm working on it slowly. So I'm not the queen of consumables or weaponry, but I've got heart... and damnit, I can laugh as we die!

Can you? Every time? Multiple times in one instance? Yeah? Cool...let's talk!

Hello. I've been meaning to do some Normal Mode EoTN dungeons on my Ranger for a while now and I'd love to help you out. My In-Game-Name is Schmerdro Ravissen.

I'm not exactly new to the game (I have a 50/50 Hall of Monuments XD ) but I already have Legendary Master of the North on 5-7 of my characters so I won't care if we fail or succeed in any of our outings. I'm just looking to try something new, since I'm used to playing caster professions, and I won't mind explaining the basics for each dungeon (like what when Fire/Holy Damage is more advantageous than other types of damage, how much hex/condition removal we will need and so on).

I also have vent which I won't mind using, but I'm more of a listener than a talker (as I am quite introverted in real-life).

Lately, when I want to relax I tend to play Jade Quarry or Fort Aspenwood (which is like... the easiest and least competitive form of PvP XD ) so I'm interested in a change of scenery. So, if you want to do some dungeons you can pm me your IGN or just whisper me in-game .

if i'm online, you can also whisper me as well
i have been playing guild wars for quite some time now, but always on and off
so i don't see myself as an experienced player and still have a lot to do on my HoM (currently at 16/50)

love this thread, I've been playing for a while now, I don't have a 50/50 HoM (trying but if I don't get it its not the end of the world)
I do some of the elite things like the solo farming and stuff, but for pve I like to run my own builds that I came up with on my own and sometimes they don't work all that well for an area so I die a lot, because of this I am really nervous about joining up with people I don't know, cause if we die I don't want to get yelled at for having the wrong build or some such BS and I don't like watching it happen to others especially newer people.
So this is a very long round about way of saying if i'm not too busy failing at my 100th attempt of Dasha Vestibule I'd love to team up (seriously I took a few months break and now I can't do that mission for the life of me)

Feel free to poke me when I'm on, and if I'm not doing something already, I'd be more than happy to run around doing things, I wouldn't call myself a veteran, I'm certainly not 50/50, and nor do I plan to be, I've never even been to some of the elite endgame areas, and some of the builds that people talk about, make no sense to me, I go with what I go with and it works most of the time.

I've completed all the campaigns (except nightfall, cuz I've not gotten around to finishing abaddon's wossit) and most of the time, I'm randomly vanquishing areas in the jade sea.

I have vent, somewhere.. and somewhat miss having people to laugh with when the brown stuff hits the whirly thing.

Please add me to your list of noobies to play with. I have been playing GW for a while, but I can be pretty baaaaaaaaaad.

It would be nice to have someone who's not pro" to play with.
When I play with people who are "totally pro", I feel like they are running me through the game, so I don't feel like I learned much. It's not much fun.

I like Vent too, but I'm more of a listener, like that Schmerdro guy above.

Thanks for this great thread. I love everyone's spirit and willingness.

I'm not new to the game but I am more than happy to join up with people who have such a great attitude. My IGN is Illfated Fat. At the ready I have a paragon, monk, ranger, ritualist and elementalist. Hopefully I'll be hearing from you in game some day soon! And if this thread is for new players only, I wish you all the best as you foray into the depths of Tyria/Cantha/Elona!

I like this idea. Hit me up if I'm in in game and not busy (read somewhat often and never) I'm not what you would call new (Unless a 61 months is new) but I dont actually play that much and I havent actually accomplished a whole lot in the 5 years I've been playing. Playing with people who actually want to do stuff and learn would be fun, and hey, beating dungeons and elite areas that I've never set foot in sounds exciting. I've got vent but whether or not I talk is a whole different ball game.
Oh, and my IGN is Firefighter Fred

Yay! More people!!

There's definitely no requirement that anyone be "new" - I'm a lot more interested in those that haven't become so hardcore that they're going to start yelling and cussing if we get wiped because I cast Tryptophan Signet instead of Fall Back. *grinning*

I've already done some adventuring with a couple of people I met from this thread, have had some excellent chats with others... and in the process, I've gotten to see some amazing parts of the game I probably wouldn't have for a long while otherwise! I've even gotten a few greens AND a couple of ecto's (and rubies and sapphires and obsidian shards even). I've also found some awesome weapons for my heroes, was gifted with a couple of adorable little mini's to play with and add to my HoM, learned the secret to killing Duncan (!!!!)... and best of all, I've made some new friends. People who are fun to adventure with, enjoyable to chat with, and apparently endlessly patient with my (many) questions.

It makes me really glad I started this thread, and I'm looking forward to getting to know more of you soon! New or not!!

I'm also really excited by the fact that I've met so many really cool people who are almost certainly still going to be around when GW2 launches. We'll be able to explore that together, to learn from each other, and hopefully be able to share what we've learned here on Guru for others. I like the idea of being able to help someone else the way I'm being helped... and when GW2 comes out, we'll all be starting from the same spot and trying to learn our way. I think that's going to be fun.

Plus...

We'll probably get to die a lot. *grinning*

Great thread TheGizzy. I think I'm pretty much at the same place you are. I have a great guild who will help me out but they mostly do Hard Mode stuff and I'm not even Ascended yet. However I did just finish EoTN all the way through now so I guess I'm not a total rube. Hardest thing I have succeeded at was Frostmaws (with a guildies help), and the hardest thing I have failed at was running (or crawling) myself to Droks. I recently spent over 5 hours H/H and eventually reached Snake Dance before getting kicked off because of a game update.

Oh yes and I'm usually a Smiting Monk. You know how the leets love smiting monks...

Love this thread. Its always great to read up how players take action and actively do something against the doomsayers who think that the game is dying .

If you need someone along to help with any mission or have a question about anything ingame just message me (Although I am AFK quite often because I forget to switch off GW sometimes ). My ign is Deathly Spirited.

Btw. You can also find a few players from GW Guru 1 and 2 on the site own Mumble voice chat server. It would be great to populate that a bit more;

Add me to the list too. This game is kinda boring by yourself but when playing with a friend it gets a lot more fun. I have chars all over the map who need missions, side quests, dungeons, etc. I do the Zaishen missions and bounties, too.

Hi,

I too am not new to the game but I have been hiding away in the land of H/H for far too long... and i think it could be time into venturing out into playing with others.

I do have a real life so find it difficult to play for hours so I doubt I could be counted on as a regular player... but I would love to join when I can.

My main character is a monk... but has forgotten how to heal (no need when H/Hing) :-/ Hopefully you can put up with that

My ingame name is Healing Smirnoff..... I'm AFK a lot so apologies if I don't respond

Hey guys,
I am pretty new to guild wars as well, just made it to the desert at lvl 17. I don't have a ton of time to play, but I would love to play with someone besides henchmen when I'm on. I haven't grouped much, but if you don't mind guiding me a bit, I usually learn pretty quick and would love to tag along on some adventures.

In game name is Selyp Nadroj. Would love to hear from some of you!

P.S. forgot to mention I am a W/R.
