Use or save cloth and runes?

I am a Mesmer and I have 54 raw cloth. Should I use them to make armor or save them for better armor when I can purchase it? I was wondering the same about my minor ruin, just use them or save them?

Do a little research, find out what the best armor you can currently get is AND how far it is to the next better set. If it's not too far, rough it until you get to that next set. If you've got a ways to go, definitely get the best armor you can find. The farther you go in the game, the easier all those crafting materials are to find. For example, last night I killed something and it dropped 22 (!) piles of glittering dust.

I agree with lasher, and if you want to make a quick buck, you could sell the rest of the cloth. As for the runes, keep them if you want to use them, sell them if you don't or can't. You can get a good amount of money for them.

Oh yeah, BTW I make a lot of money by stockpiling crafting materials and selling to the material trader when he pays well for them. I unloaded 80 iron ingots on him the other day and he paid me 175 per 10.

I've noticed that sometimes the local merchant pays better than the materials trader. Depends on the town you're in, I'm sure, but always good to shop around, eh?
