QQ more seriously dungeons are easy. We roll a RANDOM team on dungeons every day and clear through them with no problem. Shadow Form still works on most dungeons for speed clears, you just have to be good.
Stop crying and praying for a revert (which will never happen) because you can't play without dodging every attack coming at you and make your own damn build. NOTHING in this game is hard. If you can still tank DoA with Shadow Form, you can damn sure do anything else.

I think the main problem people have with these changes, even if they don't really realise it, is that they now have to work harder to achieve the same things, and although I agree that some of the things such as SF and 600 were "ruining" the game in some senses, I find it perfectly reasonable for people to 'whinge' about their downfall. These things really did change the ways if the game, and we can all moan about how running SF wasn't "legit" all day long, sometimes I don't see a world if difference between these unbalanced solo builds and overly used Discordway/Sabway etc team builds. People say SF required no skill or teamplay but I've run discord teams a few times and they were 100 times more of a doss than SF solo or UWSC.
And I also agree that nerfing SF and 600 did greatly reduce the player base. It's an old game and maybe we should have left those little f**** ups alone and lived with them.
This might sound like a bitter SF freak talking but actually I almost never used SF or 600 monk, this is just a little food for thought and a sympathetic gesture to those players who did rely on/enjoy the benefits of the pre-nerf imbalances, as well as people such as the thread creator who were unlucky not to get much if the benefits of runners etc. There's no way in a million years that these nerfs should be un-done, but we should all be entitled to a good moan about it!
As for my advice for odins daughter, if you are really set on quickly going through PvE titles, get an easy but ridiculously effective build such ad Discordway up and running. The other option is just forget about all the title shizz and spend the rest if your GW life playing for pure casual pleasure (this is the option I think I might be taking as I'll be quitting when GW2 comes out, and don't really care about taking stuff through from GW1 as it seems likely to be almost useless).

All the "good riddance" comments concerning those that quit after the nerfs, perhaps those people had done all they needed/wanted to do, and was just offering their abilities to others. With the nerfs, their "services" were no longer profitable, so they moved on. Maybe? Maybe not?
IMO, the purpose of the nerfs was to make everyone play longer. The longer it takes to reach your goal(s), the longer you will play.
Because of the 600/smite nerf, I am now concentrating on one character, not ten. I have one goal left. If I reach this one goal, I will look at continued playing. If for some reason my goal becomes unreachable on my current character, I too, will move on to something else.

I think people in general don't like change that much, especially if they're in a comfortable position. A lot of people that play PvE don't care that much about balance imo and that's what they got for giving up a favourite waste of time (farming, running, helping friends because they did all the rest etc). So people look somewhere else where the grass is greener.
A main problem was that it took too long before Anet stepped in. People got used playing with Ursan, Cryway, Shadow Form and 600/smite for a long time. It's linked with my next point: Bad timing. The game is 4-5 years old and the playerbase is more sensitive to nerfs imo.

I'd like to see the answer to this too, Angorodons are a nuisance even in NM, and there aren't really all that many skills that protect against life stealing.

:\
I mean comeon you don't even need to protect against it....I vanq'ed those areas before those skills were changed to cover life stealing...there's this thing...called healing...quite frankly asuran area's were easiest for me...
While I don't recommend full healing but rather heal prot hybrid...the damage isn't that hard to heal over...
edit: minions help btw

We've all but abandoned GW now that we've done and seen everything in the game that we wanted to do. Our HoM's remain incomplete due mainly to our resources for mats -weapons/armours been nerfed - 600/smite. We're sorry that it happened but we've moved on to other games and to be honest whilst it was annoying a few months ago, we've simply been enjoying new MMO's too much to think of GW. I highly doubt we'll be buying GW2 due simply to the choice of MMO's out there and our experience with the nerfbat in GW1.

Actually I think most, if not all the problems with these skills that enabled runners and other exploits within the game needed to be addressed. Crazy I know. The unfortunate thing is the fact that it took forever for these actions to finally be implemented. It’s like A-net took the white flag approach and gave up pleasing the masses that were already using these builds as a primary income in GW.
Hey, I knew it was inevitable for things to finally get to this point. Just like many other decisions that finally came into the “limelight” in which everyone got ticked off about. However I think these problems could have either been addressed sooner or better for that matter. Some builds could have been re-tooled to a point where there would be some middle ground between people who wanted to solo, and those who simply used it to run others (profiteering in the most simplest of ways).
At this point GW is now appealing to the selective few and the masses have started to move away because nothing truly significant has come to pass. Yes there are these future events that will hold those once again “selective few” interest, but nothing really to generate true awareness for the general public in the world of GW.
Someone had already stated it though; that at this point if the reward is too insignificant then there is no real reason to waste your time anymore. Sure there is always going for the time-sink HoM stuff, but do you really want to invest on something you know only a little about? Especially if all that hype around transferred content between the two games via HoM, eventually leads to an even more of a trivial reward. I’d rather take the wait and see approach there.

You can do dungeons in HM with h/h. It's just not fun anymore. I work all day, I want to play to relax. GW isn't relaxing to me anymore. I sympathize with the OP. But disagree that it's impossible or too hard. It's just boring now. I have a second account that is used for nothing but storage since the XTH fail. (purchased 2 weeks before) Out of the 16 chars I have, 3 get used. The rest are neglected. I remember a time not too long ago when I couldn't wait to get home to play GW. Now I pretty much just log a few hours every so often mainly helping guildies. I remember when I was excited about GW2 releasing but I doubt I'll waste my money because I feel that it will not be enjoyable. Used to log in to find at least half my friends list logged in and could easily join in on alliance efforts etc. Now I'm lucky to find 3 friends logged in at any given time. But I guess all good things come to an end. I can't complain too much though. I did get a few years of enjoyment for a relatively small cost. I just wish things were like they used to be. I liked having fun.

My ranger is my title seeker. I have YET to get dungeon runs or vanquish runs I do it all on my own meaning no runners. Look on the PUGs listing. I love doing dungeons both in NM and HM. so does my co-leader. If you lack the runners which is a SAD way to get your titles if they mean that much to you work on them, don't be lazy. If you need vanquishing help look me up if you want. send me a pm on here. I'm in central standard time apparently GMT -6 i guess. If you want dungeons HM look me up as well I love doing them. I have an ele working on a HM dungeon book right now because i want to get her ranks higher for eotn armor. Anyway quit being lazy get it done if it means that much to you.

Ok ..because you don know where i stand in the game i can forgive you for your pointless comments, a quick summary on my status is:
i am legendry vanquisher
i have completed ALL titles in EOTN
IN FACT TO CUT A LONG LIST SHORT ..i have 28 titles on my Ranger, am 1.5k off getting drunkard and 75% to luxon saviour, which will get me to the goal ive set myself.
I have done the EOTN dungeons and quests sooooo many times, i get sick at the mention of the place...please dont call me lazy, only I have that right!

I call em as I see em....you've stated in your first post you had a LONG way to go. you've stated that in other posts you've replied to. So which is it. Long way to go or just lazy. You called yourself lazy that give anyone else the right to call you that as well.

I apologise for not being more informative in my first post

I have a long way to go because id like to get 2 other chars much further, it took me 4.5 years to get my ranger to her current position and the term "lazy" was refered to the work required to get my monk and necro there.

Aside from that I’m sure there are people out there that can still run dungeons. If you’re so sick of doing them why make yourself the goal for two more characters? I’ll be one of the first to admit H/H isn’t fun.. Find yourself a group of people so that you can laugh and have a good time again. Help new people through the dungeons, it’s nice to see how happy a new person is when they complete something. More rewarding then just standing there getting a run. Take this however you want not trying to be rude. Just stating a few facts from my point of view.
I know I stopped playing the game for a while with all the merciless nerfs to Ranger bow skills. My friends list is about as barren as the Desolation, and I have a hard time getting with anyone who knows what they're doing.
So I just hench things most of the time these days. Sad that it's come to this, but this may just be a phase. Or it may be the decline just before the shutdown. Who knows.
Diablo 2's been around twice as long, though, and it still has a strong core fanbase. That could very well be Guild Wars' destiny.

So you preferred the overpowered farming tools that destroyed the economy and made Elite Areas a walk in the park? I think you've had too much time in the sun.
|
We simply had played the content through and were utilising the 600/smite farm duo to try and make headway with the gold sink titles and for farming mats that went towards crafting elite armour sets and weapons for the HoM.
The point is rather moot now as it has been effectively been emoved from general game play. Pity, but as i've mentioned we have moved on to other MMO's. I wonder however, how many other like minded gamers will have moved far enough away from GW to the extent of dismissing GW2? We certainly have done so and have no real inclination as far as GW2 goes.
As far as your view goes as per the economy, well, you're entitles to your opinion but i don't agree with your statement.

You know and have known that people complained about SF and even the 600/smite builds that ruins the economy, .

I have spent a long time and money playing these other chars, why should i just forget about them?
