no finale in kamadan

It happened in Lions Arch - though I didn't get a mask.. Then I jumped to Kamadan and nothing happened at all.

Will there be a Wintersday 33 1/3? (sorry - but Naked Gun came to mind)

There was a final in Kamadan all the way up to district 9 (that I saw), beyond that those districts were maybe made after the event had started. Anet as implemented code a long time ago to not allow a district made after the fact so there is no exploiting.

Kamadan is delayed like last time so it is possible to go from LA to Kamadan to get double the gifts you just have to get in a district already established when the event starts up.

An alliance member did report not getting a Grenth mask in one of the LA US districts even though the finale occured normally (game + fireworks + presents).

I was with Gaile in Inter 2 and we got Dwayna's. Then I switched to Kamadan 2, I think, and I got it there too.

Kamadan Europe English 1 had a finale - Dwayna crown

I thought it would have been Grenth?

heres a very sure way to get your mask (crown) do not go to America districts

just go to a international district less crowd less lag and you get what you need

as mentioned above anet implemented that code a LOOOOOOONNNG time ago so no exploitation would take place

Wintersday Redux 2.0 the week after Canthan New Year?

I wonder how many of you guys crying for redux are looking after the hats and not snowball dominance 24/7 farm :P

It seemed to start quite late in Kamadan (at least 20min past the hour), but occured both times for me. I think I was in Europe Eng 2. Got both hats on both my accounts.

Keep in mind, districts made AFTER the particular finale begins won't have the finale occur (Dwayna and Grenth won't appear in mid-conversation). Which means to get the event, you have to show up in one of the lower numbered districts. This is how EVERY event works and is not a bug.

Not getting a hat though, would be a bug. That would explain why a.net is also offering a collector to give out the hats to cover themselves in case the glitch is happening again.

I vote for a Wintersday rerun rerun.

Players control which hat is awarded in which district; anet has nothing to do with this process. For instance, I idled overnight in LA ID3, and it was Dwayna from the start (when, as odd, should have been grenth if you follow the player-determined 'rules'). Like others said, districts made after the start won't have a finale. Just move to a lower-numbered district.

If I have to look at wintersday towns for much longer, I may scream >__<

Another redux!

Kamadan starts at about 15 minutes after the hour, rather than on the hour in Lion's Arch. No issues there thus far. Do note that districts created by town hoppers after the start of the event won't get crowns. So if you jump, do so to a lower numbered district.

I would imagine this is caused by people jumping from LA to Kama and finding newly created districts. I zoned into Kama d40 and it wasn't happening, dropped into 25 and it was midway through.

I will concede it was probably a new district. I did hop from LA to Kam and it was the first event at midnight. The last worked ok for me.

Wait.... So Arenanet reran the Wintersday Festival because of the first incident where people didn't receive hats at all, and some just plain lagging out and all that, so they did a rerun festival to "make it up to the gw players" and this festival is just that, an EXACT copy of the last festival still complete with buggy/incomplete hat give-outs? No one bothered to look into the problem before re-running it? Shame.

I can see potential GW2 sales dropping lower and lower each day.

Nope. So far, the only person reporting the bug was mistaken.
