Hello, I think a Sealed Deck Hero Battles could be very fun. The ability to create and use homemade builds from a selection of random skills and not have to rely on a team of players is a good concept. If it were to be made I would NOT use the old maps, and I would base it more towards killing, but still maintain the capping aspect. I would like to know what are peoples views on this idea. Do you think it would work? Do you think it should be done?
Thanks guys and please post your ideas/comments below

It could be good, but Random Codex Arena would be a lot better.

No. One of the last things the game needs is another 1v1 format that has a title associated with it. *facepalm*

Did we not learn anything from the past?

What's the point? We already concluded the AI in this game sucks, and AI in PvP sucks.

heh, yeah and that was when we could pick skills that the AI could reasonably handle. Imagine what it'd be like with the codex format?

And what about the very long set-up time. You seriously can't think that finding 3 people is faster than setting up the items, skills and attributes of 3 extra every day.

Heroes were fine in Hero Battles with thier AI, they used the skills fine etc... so I dont know what you mean by that, and since the recent hero update they can manage most skills just fine. There have been Sealed Deck tournaments in the past and they worked very well. So i cant see a viable debate over wether AI would ruin it...

I think people need to quit thinking that HB or any similar format will be coming back to GW any time ever.

Problem with hb was that it was 1v1 and offered rewards.
And besides that, realistically, I doubt the manpower want to make another pvp format right after codex.

Why, so it can be RR'd again to death? No.

A not-so-cleverly disguised "bring RR back" thread.

prefer this using the same rules of CA. i thought seal-deack was going to be random grouping in the first place, lol. don't know why... no more HB in any way, shape, or form. heros have been removed from all forms of pvp, and that's the way it should be.

I dont believe he mentioned adding a title or ZQuest, see how many of the people who did RR did it for anything but those two reasons, thats why RR could have been stopped anytime.

Anyway yes it would be a good idea, probably have old maps but shrines give boosts and no points, i.e. you cant win by capping only but it helps in combat. As for AI it is fine really, if you dont know how to run your 4 characters bars anyway then how did you design them in the first place? (And if you C+Ped them from wiki I have not much sympathy).

And btw whoever it was that mentioned set up times, any decent team would have one person design all 4 bars anyway for CA so it makes no difference, the point is the maps are different/no need to wait ages/grind titles to get with decent players, (and yes Heroes are good if you know what to do most of the time)/something different.

Thank you Andrew you have helped express many of my points. And as for BlackSephire who said "A not-so-cleverly disguised "bring RR back" thread." I never participated in RR, I tohught it was a complete joke, and it could be combatted easily by simply changing the Zquest, or by introducing a Consecutive count where you only get the reward after 2 or 3 consecutive wins.

If by that you mean they were able to run less than 10 gimmicky builds on their own, sure.

This.

Many players can't play on Codex Arena because "GO AWAY N0BZ0RD!1!! Glad69+ ONLY!!!!11!".

/not signed for the OP's suggestion.

I for one would have liked to see Sealed Deck actually as the name implies. That is, AFTER joining a battle, players should be given a RANDOM set of skills (i.e potentially different for each player so as to discourage builds of the day) and then have to build a bar from what they have (maybe with a trading option inside teams included). A big part of the fun of sealed deck play in CCG formats is the fact that you DON'T have a lot of time to build something and that you're not facing an opponent with basically the same decks. In CA currently, after a few hours the teams tend to be basically the same setup with basically the same bars.

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of CA a lot, I just think that certain things could have been implemented to make it a much more enjoyable experience than the current "high end PvPers farming inexperienced players" format we got.
