Great Destroyer Solo

Hi there,

Recently i have been attempting to solo (55) the 'A Time For Hero's' quest, not for money but for my guild/alliance members when they need it. However, i am having problems with the Destroyer of Thoughts and to a lesser extend the Destroyer of Hope. The DoH i can kill if i time it right, with a combo of Illusion of Pain and the DoH spamming Oder of Blood and suiciding itself, but the Destroyer of Thoughts is destroying me with Shatter Enchants and Mirror of Disenchantment, is there anyway to stop this thing before it kills me? Do i just run to it as soon as it spawns and use my visages or am i missing a trick with the whole thing?

Hmm, I've run that mission in very much the same manner as you. The key here is to ignore all other destoyers except the great destroyer. Run straight up to the great destoyer from the beginning. You need to chain your visages while standing next to the great destroyer. If you have the melee destroyers on you, the great destroyer is rendered energy-less. Without energy, he can't use summon destroyers and you do not have to engage the destroyer of thoughts.

I try to keep my visages up, do i cast them at the same time, or cast them 1 at a time?

one at a time. when one is about to end, cast the other one. With your +20% enchantments, you should have a small but ample window of time to keep it up constantly.

I've run the mission with a 600HP with Distracting Shot, 16/16-Mesmer and a monk with Succor, Mending, Watchful Spirit and Purifying Veil.
Run past the Destroyer of Lives, kill the two destroyers next to the Great Destroyer, than approach him and interrupt Lava Wave with DShot.
I don't know if it's as fast as a 55Monk, but it's pretty much fail-safe.
