Today I was a little depressed, reminiscing about the good times in pre-searing Ascalon; thinking about running about with a honycomb while bees chased me for a reason I can't remember.
I decided to take a walk on the ashen wastes of Regent Valley, pondering the destruction and feeling a little humbled. It was gray, it was bleak, it would never be the same. It was painful, but something I needed to experience.
As I pondered my old home, and existence itself, at the ruins of King's Watch, I spiraled into a deep depression and couldn't help but /kneel and /helpme to the Gods.
In a flash during that confusing, extensional moment, I saw my newly acquired pet hydra mucking about. Just doing what pet hydras do...mucking about. I saw life, and more importantly I saw hope. I gathered her up in my pack and named her "Darcy." And I gathered up my bow and vowed that nobody else in these lands would lose hope again.
Darcy the Hydra and I beat a bunch of quests I had always had trouble with before. It was so easy now, with my new friend at my side. Shiro, the Lich, Abaddon: the three exemplars of evil fell before us this night. Not with the power of magic or sword, but from a random act of kindness.
