/sigh. I'm a bit dashed TBH, but thanx for the info!
Anyway,
Anybody have an idea how long Blizzard has been developing their next-gen MMO? Been hearing rumors for the last year or 2. For A-Nets sake I hope it won't be ready too soon after GW2's release.
Timing... Its everything in life.

This is ridiculous. Same old song and dance from the department. I still say they are delayed by the lawsuit. Hopefully KOTOR MMORPG is online before then. As for NCsoft they really better consider releasing some HARD info in the next 6 months. New games are going to be sold before the (un)expected release and few players will jump on board after investing their time in another game.
meh, not much else in that, but at least its communication, however small. honestly, im probably gonna play GW2 anyway regardless of when it comes out.
All you people with GWAMM/full obby/chaos gloves rushed through to fast and have nothing to do. muahaha. I'll have plenty to do for awhile. lol i kid.

One of the most common things i see is "screen shot or it didn't happen"
Well I'm going with this til they release something. They keep on about we will be done when we are done. Well.... when your done could be determined by the very financial stability of those who fund you, and well NCsoft aint looking too hot at all. Not to mention they are first in line to getting sued for mmo rights. Getting sued first because they are the weakest target...(the lawsuit is BS if I do say so myself) Though I'm going to stick to my thoughts that most anet is gone, and been fired. Only makes sense they are cutting back, I mean Gail actually got on the game for discussions, and now we have "Regina" who makes posts now and then.
I personally would like to see GW2, but meh, I'm not holding my breath. Watching NCsofts troubling financial situation has erased any hope of that for me.

Regina, the reason why a lot of people are a bit negative here is that they love GW so much and as a result they are a bit impatient. So don't let it bother you too much.
Mike, just keep working on GW2 and deliver us a great game, with a lot of content and everything will be forgotten.
Although nothing new has been said we are happy to hear that the development of GW2 is progressing.

So really why was this Post alloud to be discussed? Its another stupid reason to complain about GW2 being years away for impatient people |
The letter is'nt aimed at regular forum goers, but the other 95% of people who don't read them. That's why it says nothing we did'nt know already.
I do believe GW2 is being worked on, and has a lot of focus, but I can't help but think the secretive way in which information about GW2 is being handled will backfire somewhere down the line.
I do agree with some of the posters though. 2010 looks unlikely, 2011 is possible, but even a slight delay(law suits, economy, re-designs of some aspects of gameplay etc) makes 2012 not an outside bet.
Anet's view as to what players should do about Gw1 is also quite clear, if somewhat unconventional for an MMO.
"If you are fed/bored up with GW1 go do something else and don't expect us to keep updating the content. Thanks for all the fun you gave us and we'll see you in 3 years."
It's an attiude which I actually find quite refreshing.

Not to be negative, but I'm glad to hear you're proud of what your team has accomplished GW2 wise, because none of your players are.
|
And that too.
Seriously... one pic... just one.

When's the last time you saw "modesty" in any professional press release?
