Skeleton on Plains of Jarin

Ever since Nightfall came out and I noticed him this dude has had me intrigued for a long time.
Why is he there and is there any story to it?
non of the wikis from my searches showed anything so can anyone fill me in?
Or is he just a prop?

I always assumed those things were empty... lol.

The skeleton is too big to have been human though (compare it to the dude, it's at least twice the height); maybe it's just too big (Anet didn't care about it too much) or it is something about some famous battle.

Thanks everyone I guess it is just a prop but it's funny as that is the only one I have found in Istan
I like looking at everything in the world to see how much detail the Dev's/artists and whoever added.
It just makes things more realistic and a far more immersive environment for me.
Some people just play the game and don't stop and take the time to smell the flowers.
