Private chat changed?

I have never noticed this before, but just today, I was suprised to see small arrows next to the name of the person that you are sending a message to. How long have those been there?

It has always been there.

I know it's always been indented (the messages you send), so it wasn't hard for me to pick up. So, confirmation +1.
