mmmmm there's this outpost in the realm of torment I had no clue that it existed until I stumbled upon it when I was running around with my dervish. I'll try to find the name.
Might be this. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Gate_...htfallen_Lands |
I had no clue about this outpost until I had to cap a boss near there and happened to catch a glimpse of the portal on the edge of the compass.

-Serenity Temple (Ascalon) -Grendich Courthouse (Ascalon) -Ice Tooth Cave (Northern Shiverpeaks) -Fishermans Haven (Kryta) -Maguuma Stade (Maguuma Jungle) -Deldrimor War Camp (Southern Shiverpeaks) ~ Visited for SF, but not by everyone -The Granite Citadel (Southern Shiverpeaks) ~ Visited for armor, but not by everyone -Marhans Grotto (Southern Shiverpeaks) ~ Visited for armor, but not by everyone -Port Sledge (Southern Shiverpeaks) Factions: (These are all easy but not everyone goes there) -Saint Anjekas Shrine (Echovald Forest) -Amatz Basin (Echovald Forest) -Durheim Archives (Echovald Forest) -Bai Paasu Reach (Jade Sea) -Eredon Terrace (Jade Sea) -The Aurios Mines (Jade Sea) Nightfall: -Camp Hojanu (Kourna) -Yahnur Market (Vabbi) -Basalt Grotto (Desolation / Vabbi) -Lair of the Forgotten (Desolation) -Gate of Nightfallen Land (Realm of Torment) -The Shadow Nexus (Realm of Torment) Thats the most missed / furthest to reach (for little or no point) outposts in the game. |
If I have to choose one, I would vote for the Gate of Nightfallen Lands because it is in a high level area and there is nothing there.

i would personally hide at Fisherman's haven. just because i love that region of Kryta. twin serpent lakes is possibly my favorite area. so pretty.

What about GoA, Urgoz and Deep these days

Back in the days of Prop, I discovered Port sledge after I took like 3 or 4 characters already through the game and was playing for a long time.
And grendich courthouse probably, and maguuma stade ofc.
In my 27 months of play I had only discovered Fisherman's Haven in the past few weeks. I'd say it's relatively obscure because many Sanctum Cay runners just skip it.

Remember, hiding isn't just about finding an out of the way place, it's about blending in. If you want to do it right, you have to remember that whoever is participating will probably be looking for the least likely places anyone would be at as a priority following the main cities. You need something in the middle, a place that receives traffic but you don't give a second thought about.
Battle Isles (last place anyone would look in a cross campaign hunt): The Zaishen Elite Challenge Prophecies: Tomb of Primeval Kings Dragon's Lair Deldrimor War Camp Sanctum Cay (why would you hide at a vital mission?) Fisherman's Haven Ascalon Arena Shiverpeak Arena Boreal Station Riverside Province Dunes of Despair Factions: The Marketplace Seitung Harbor Altrumm Ruins Maatu Keep Nightfall: Sunspear Arena Beknur Harbor Jokanur Diggings Remains of Sahlahja Grand Court of Sebelkeh Chantry of Secrets Pogahn Passage |
i declare this post epic fail.
Gate of the Nightfallen Lands.
There are other places that are obscure and out-of-the-way, but they all are on an explorable map, so cartographers will have to go there. Gate is not on an explorable map AND in the middle (well, corner, I suppose) of one of the hardest areas in the game... I imagine not many people run around RoT for fun.
I've been to it only on one character a couple days after NF came out... I was looking around RoT for elite skill caps and charting the boss locations to put up on wiki. All my other characters never been there.

this thread's about the most obscure outposts, not your hide-and-seek strategies.

Just a side note: port sledge is pretty well known for chestrunners, I remember spending hours there waaaay back, and if I want to run chests I always go there (which i dont do, actually)

anywho on-topic and slightly off (with a fun story) xD
when I was finishing my leg. vanq penultimate area was (tangle root)? went through it and low and behold I found an outpost (one at the bottom of the area...magumma stade?) so yer went through the game in NM / HM did 52? vanqs and never came across it before...
<<<moral of the story, I aen't heard of it before so it would be most obscure IMO...
or you can take the opposite tack...go to the most obvious outpost last place they'd think to look - o.O wait thats wrong
