"Nearest mob" or "Last mob" indicator in hardmode.

Yesterday I was vanquishing and spent a full hour searching Zhenshun Tunnels for that last patrolling mob.

My suggestion is that when in hardmode, there should be a red arrow on the radar showing the direction to the nearest mob. This to avoid the tedium of searching for that elusive last patrol in large, labyrinthine, areas such as Zhenshun Tunnels or Iron Horse Mines. It could even be a "last mob" indicator which doesn't light up until there's only one group of enemies left on the map, that would still be very helpful!

If that is seen as cheating, how about a skill which pings the direction to the nearest mob? Like Wolf Spirit skill does in Eye Of The North in the Nornbear mission. I'd be willing to sacrifice a skill slot to not have to endlessly jog around searching for that last patrol!

Anet - Please?

Searching for hours after a group only makes it more time consuming, not harder earned imo. /signed

just look at your map and think about what you missed for a min... it's not too hard.

people just have poor reading comprehension -.- this is the the last mob...meaning all else has been killed, spending endless hours looking for it isn't really earning it but just a waste of time after you spent so long clearing the place, secondly studying the map won't help any, this is a patrol groups, yes their tricky to find.

This would be so useful... it isn't adding to the challenge of HM to find the last mob, just the amount of time it takes to complete an area. You can run around for ages missing a patrol, so it just comes down to luck sometimes.

/signed. How does it tkae away the skill? It points to LAST mob. Meaining you've already killed pretty much every mob.

I spent 2 hours last night tracking around Ferndale for a single dredge that always seemed to just be out of range......

Running around Talus Chute for 1 1/2 hours looking for one ice imp or Avicara is not "hard", just "boring, tedius, and time consuming".

Just would eliminate a lot of unnecessary stress.

Yup, it should trigger when any of these happens:
- Killed 95% of the mobs.
- 10 monsters left.
- 2 enemy groups lefts.

And it should point one by one each of those monsters.

but searching for the last mobs is part of vanquishing :x

just keep a close look on the minimap and divide and shit, we almost never need to search for the last mobs

What? No! KILLING the last mob is part of the Vanquishing!

/signed. But I agree with the poster who said it should be a pve skill... It doesn't make the game harder, it just makes it time consuming and annoying.

/signed, agreed.

I haven't vanquished too many area's, but it is a real pain to try and hunt down the last guy or two. It is not a matter of skill, as you have already killed 499 of the 500 guys in the map (for example).

It is just wasted time, and those arguing that it will take away from vanquishing, please break down the meaning of that word.

van·quish [vang-kwish, van-]

–verb (used with object)
1. to conquer or subdue by superior force, as in battle.
2. to defeat in any contest or conflict; be victorious over: to vanquish one's opponent in an argument.
3. to overcome or overpower: He vanquished all his fears.

Not to run around MINDLESSLY looking for a single mob.

I'm on my last 32 vanquishes in Tyria, and all I can say is it's time consuming and pisstaking. It's only happened to me about 6 times overall. Difficulty is irrelevent when it's only one enemy left, or to put my point in better words:

QTF It only makes things annoying and time consuming, your still killing everything, the skill in it does not change. /signed for this reason

That doesn't work all the time, as sometimes you -unexpectedly- pass a mob, or trigger a patrol.

Very much so yes. Usually I just take a break if I'm missing one mob, but it would still save time. Vanquishing is about killing. I do not find running around a long area for 30min to an hour trying to find ONE SINGLE ENEMY.
