O, to buy a mini pig

I had a couple of mini pigs I sold in about mid-May, and as I recall, I couldn't find buyers over the 3k threshold. But lately i've noticed the price of pigs has skyrocketed to an average of 10k! Has something happened recently to our beloved community of mini pigs? Did the 08 New Year take more from us than we thought, or is this merely a temporary spike in the market?

Insight into this most grave of situations would be appreciated

Yeah, I think the Canthan New Year combined with the HoM saw to the rise of mini pigs prices. Makes me wish I had bought one when they were going for so little.

Yeah, well people normally for around 5 or 6 minis form the first one, then on the 2nd canthan festival people jsut changed them into celestial pigs so i alot less on the market.
HoM didn't help and i guess the oens remaining are being held onto jus incase

Also the ecto farming.

Prices on rare pets have skyrocketed

But I have also noticed a moderate rise in the prices of non-rare limited ones liked pigs (up to 10k from 3k), destroyers (up to 60k from 35k) and even Varesh.

I suspect people with new money are filling in the spaces in their collections.

Meanwhile, nonlimted such as Moas and birthday gifts have remained stable or fallen.

so all my undedicated mini's are worth something now huh...glad all I didn't get rid of all those mini pigs

I was one of the ones who saw this coming (http://guildwarsguru.com/forum/showt...94#post3645394, post #13), so I bought an extra one.

mini ceraton also jumped in price

Miniatures get dedicated and the rest increase in value.

Pigs are a limited miniature they will never appear again.

Limited miniatures get their prices increased higher and faster.

Come on now...how is anyone surprised that the coolest mini is worth something?

I dedicated 10 of those things before I traded them in for Celestials. I'm sure plenty of people trashed some before the trade-in thing came along, so basically it's a supply/demand thing. Fortunately, people now only need to dedicate one per account, presuming the HoM changes come as announced.

All i did at last year's festival was buy pigs for 5k and sell them for 30k, so when they become over 25k that's when i might start to regret it

Mini Asura has also done the same thing. About a month after they came out, I sold it for 35k, and now every time I'm in Spamadon, I see someone "SELLING ULTRA-RARE MINI ASURA, 50k UNDED!!!"

I guess because they are limited, and most people have dedicated them, people are looking to fill out their HoM, but there's less now. Supply and demand.

Has the gray giant gone up yet? I just happen to have a spare.
