Annoying when you are doing something (quest, mission, farming group ,etc) and someone leaves. OR even if your in a guild group and someone has to go. There should be an option to substitute a hero or even a henchmen in for that person.
Group leader gets to choose out of his heroes, so someone can't just quickly add their hero in.
Option of substituting Hero when PuG member leaves!

Anyways, this is not needed. Annoying? Yes, needed? no. Most NM areas can be finished short 1-4 players, and for HM and Elite Areas, people should know how long the run will take and shouldn't join if they know/think they won't be able to finish. I say, deal with it, enough QQing people, it is finally starting to annoy me. Forums are for discussion, not complaining, figure out the difference soon people, please.

I don't see this as complaining at all. Even in my alliance with over 500 people, I find it difficult at times to get a group of 7 other people together for elite areas. And even when I do, someone might disconnect in the middle or have to go earlier than they thought. All the more so in pugs, this is very annoying. The fact that there is no replacement for when a person leaves actually deters people from pugs even more, and this is an MMO game, so ironically, hero or hench replacement of a leaver will encourage people to play more with others. I was thinking rather than just letting people play "games" by having someone tag along for one part, and switching them out for a hero to handle a different section, if someone leaves, the game automatically adds in a henchy of the same profession. Would take out some of the issues of people being shifty, and encourage more pugs since there is less to fear about completing 6 FoW quests only to have someone quit.

ANY amount of ditchers in HM areas can be a fatal occurance seeing as if its 1 monk, everyone leaves, and if its 1 non-monk there is like a 40% chance one of the party monks will leave. That of course leads to the domino effect.
You really don't understand the difference between complaining and suggesting, do you? Dictionary plz. Stop trolling the suggestion forum.

i agree with the henchmen idea but not the hero idea plus they do have a cap to how many people can be in one group although i have seen some people exploit the cap they need to fix that so maybe they can fix the cap exploit along with the substituting Henchie when PuG member leaves. killing 2 birds with one stone.
/signed only for the henchie part not the hero idea!!

Most area's are easy enough with just 4, especially when 3 of the 4 are heroes. But some places in HM are a little rough with just 4.I think it would be too much to allow you to add heroes...Because like said people would just do that specifically to get their heroes. The problem with the game is not enough people play with live players as it is.
/signed on the adding hench part in HM for balance's sake.
/not signed for heroes.

Too abusable. Lets say you have a team made of a bunch of melee characters and 2 monks, and then when you get towards this one really powerful monk boss near the end, you just have one of your guys drop and replace him with a shutdown ranger or mesmer just for that one boss.
There are too many situations where switiching around your parties build mid-mission/vanquish would be really useful.

Why would anyone in the party want to drop and not get to complete the mission? Whasn't that the point of going, or st least supposed to be the point?
No Hero's, only Henchies, and at what point do you add the Henchies? And where do they come from? And isn't there already several threads about this?
I DCed in a thunderstorm last night, about 85% through a vanquish, I left GW up never clicking the "Rejoin mission 'YES'" button until AFTER I knew my connection was restored and rejoined the part 7 mins later.
Could the team have replaced me while I was gone with this "Idea"?
Yes leavers have ALWAYS been an issue, but never so important that the game mechanics need changed and MANY new scripts need written.

If your alliance has over 500 people and you can't get 7 other ppl together for a mission or farm run, then maybe its time for a new alliance?

Besides, when you're deployed in enemy territory doing military-type stuff and you lose a man, you can't reach in your ruck for "instant infantryman". You carry on and finish the mission a man down, or you RTB and get a replacement.
