(NOTE: This topic is completely serious.)
So, now that I am getting a laptop which can play games at a reasonable quality (i.e. 60 FPS), I've decided to replay Guild Wars to see the big changes in gameplay and graphics that would result. (Plus, it's free.)
So...how exactly would I do that? My primary character, a Necromancer of course, has beaten most of the game anyways. (Protector of all 3 continents, I don't care about Hard Mode). However, when I play as another character, I feel much, much weaker, so it's annoying.
I've tried a Ranger, Elementalist, Ritualist, Monk...nothing has stuck for me in terms of paralleling my Necromancer. I refuse to try an Assassin or Paragon (both seem boring in PvE and broken in PvP), so I guess my only options of creating a Dervish, Warrior, or Mesmer.
I have no clue how to enjoy Guild Wars again. Obviously, I've been angry at ArenaNet for their lack of competance...but hey, it's free, and you get what you pay for.
I do have 200k in storage to buffer up any character I have or might make, and I will buy EotN soon.
What should I be doing?

Warrior has alot of options since its a core class, however I found playing one extremely boring, and have deleted a total of 3 (yes, i tried 3 times to get used to it and got bored every time)
Mesmer is great, but if you like alot of pve id suggest dervish.
Also, my main is a derv so thats my obvious bias. Dervs are great, but you're kind of forced into using a godform, seeing as how any other class can use the scythe attacks effectiently.
But if you plan on ursan'ing once you get eotn... warrior. Grps in ToA are racist against my derv every time i try to get into an ursan grp XD

Of the three you mention as choices ... i guess Dervish is strongest due to the semblance of AoE. Pretty much anything single-target feels weak.
I'm curious .. what anet incompetence has made you so angry? They've made mistakes sure but overall I think they've done a fabulous job. I've never played any game 1/4 as much as this and judging by the fact that you are back you must like it pretty well too.
When I refused to be a healer in another MMO, I made a warrior. For kicks. Nothing serious. A toon to learn the game.
I tried other classes but I kept going back to the warrior. Funny that the only one I kept for more than 6 levels was the necro, but I keep deleting my other toons and going back to warrior.
That's PvE of course. For PvP I split my time between Warrior and Ranger.
Melandru loves Rangers.

I'm in the same boat as you. Got a bit bored with the final 4 titles for GWAMM so made yet another new Warrior - about my 4th, I think.
Warriors are great for mindless fun. However, I did find Paragons to be full of joy too.
My original char is a WAR, and my most-played is a Ranger. 21 characters and at least one of each class. Didn't get on with Mesmers too well, or Monks. I think that's because they're the two classes that require the most skill

O
I love my Warrior, with over 1000 hours play time. Honestly, I've been able to have fun in PVE with every class, some more than others. Elementalist's are fun to play because you can see all the numbers, Assassins are fun with Death Blossom and teleporting, Monks keep people alive, or you can smite people if you're feeling vindictive.
I'd say try the Warrior first, there's a lot of versatility and strength there. If that doesn't work for you, you might want to try the Mesmer because there are some similarities between Mesmers and the Necromancer curses line, in terms of hexing the crap out of stuff to kill it.

Warrior and paragon are both a lot of fun. I like my warrior quite a bit as I have a deep fascination with ancient Rome and have built my character to look and act like an Imperial legionary (Elonian Gladius, Tower Shield, Elite Gladiator leggings and greaves, Tyrian gauntlets, Ancient cuirass, and Sunspear helmet).
I'm pretty attached to that character and love PvPing with him.
