a 55 ele....Is it worth it?

Just like the question says...I made one just to see but can't seem to find anyway with any variation of the build that it does any good or is just not as effective as other ele farming builds....

Am I wrong?

There are so many other builds with ele. 55ing is just wasting your money on runes and whatnot. Just go for the regular old farming builds and you can go just about anywhere to farm. Have fun ele farming ftw!!

ele 55 is waste just us a beter cheaper to run build there so many and eles can farm faster that monk 55 2

im sure you could come up with a stretched one...but pulling out a 55 ele would have to specc into prot and aoe spells and healing...

so im SURE you could or i could come up with something...

but you are much better off just going off with the typical obsidian flesh or myst form spells and nuking things....

i dont really care for ele except when i play it in gvgs,, but thats my 2 cents.

The whole point of a 55hp build is damage reduction as much as possible.

Since NF was released, elementalists have their own generic way of reducing damage, and they can reduce it practically to zero. So there is no reason any more to go 55.

Lol, well 55ing is just a tad obsolete now. My monk is now 600 ing, more effective. As for elementalist, lol well i'm sure you could make some "600 elementalist" , i doubt it would work, as you would be using pretty much all monk skills.
Try that E/A boss farming build, or experiment with mist form or obsidian flesh. E/Me works good with some mantra of earth, and Stone Striker.

any caster can successful 55, the thing is that Eles have so many better options that 55ing with them is just a waste...
Obsflesh, Shadow form, Mist form, etc
Sliver Armor=great farming skill
heck even Sandstorm+armor buffers
instead of looking for 55 builds look for "terra tanks" you'll find plenty of those, and most are more effective than 55.

you could do a 330 ele also, 300 health+prot spirit+stonelfesh aura
but that isnt really effective, just do some earth tank with sliver

I think a 600 earth ele would have a much better time then a 55 ele. I have made a 600 D/E build which works decent*didn't want to go 130 because I didn't want to waist money on all the monk skills, already had most of the ele skills I used* And I made a Earth Ele variant, dunno if it would work though, as I don't have an ele. But there are several ele farming builds on PvX that you can use.

Thanks everyone. You all touched on the same things i was thinking. Which is why i asked the question..I have tried most of the popular farming things so this was just one more thing to try.

The reasons are - the monk is in practice the best due to monk skills being used - when u do a hybrid 55 any/monk your skills wont have optimal attributes.

Any day i prefer using 55 mo/ne , its safer than 55 necro but for that safety i sacrafice dmg output and i only use in certain places.
Also remember the monk has +3 on all monk attributes but hybrids lose that and you end up having to do more work to stay alive and say matched against 55 monk and 55 necro - the necro will use energy more as enchants dont last as long.

Ele`s do have their own tank builds without having to 55 and they do work just as good or better in a few places.People tend to forget about that with eles and decide "go 55 its easier" lol

Thumbs up: Infinite OF, can tank an infinite size of mobs, if not OF - renewal sliver armor
Thumbs down: variation of builds (if perma OF, you need 15 earth minimum, and you also need something in prot prayers for PS)

You seem to judge a 55 build purely by its survivability.....which is only half the equation. 55 Necros for instance, have less survivability, but do far more damage than a Monk 55, or a M/N 55.....which at the VERY least puts it on part with a SoJ 55 monk.

Also, 55ing with an ele is stupid. As i said (and posted a video for) a 135hp ele is superior in every single way. You take no damage whatsoever (like a SoA monk) and only have to counter degen with Aura of Regeneration. This build does have its spots where it is far superior to a terra tank, ob flesh tank, and E/A shadow farmer.
