Good Deeds on WintersDay

As some of you know, I'm a real ass most of the time on these forums.

I tend to be sarcastic, obnoxious and downright rude. I've insulted Gaile, Andrew and God knows who else. (Have some regrets, but come on, you've GOT to have thick skin to come in here.) *Waves to Gaile.

It's just a release...it's fun (and funny) to see reactions to some of my posts, no harm intended.

But, whatever. In game, I tend to be more "me". I give free runs, good advice, help on missions and quests, point newbies in the right direction, etc.

Usually before Wintersday, I stock up on Green weapons to give away to some lower level people (yes, I pay attention and try and determine if they're new).

I've actually gotten flamed for giving away some really nice stuff, (called a n00b for giving away a 40k bow to someone I THOUGHT was cool), but those are few and far between. Occasionally, I'll send an Ale out to someone I'm bs'ing with waiting for Dwayna or Grenth.

Was just wondering what other people did for their good deeds on Wintersday.

EDIT: Let's make this clear. I'm not talking about Christmas, or whatever you personally celebrate in real life. This is a GW only thread.... and I should have said, "during the wintersday event".

for Wintersday I don't be an ass on AC. But its really hard.

To be honest, I really don't do much extra during wintersday, but I will give help to people who ask about the snowball arena, and I always give my team in the snowball arena a fair chance of judgement.

Has nothing to do with Wintersday, and will probably do so after it's over, but since I'm closing in on 2 million faction, when I hit that milestone, I'm going to sponsor a drawing for my guild and give the winner all my Zaishen keys. I have 20 now and will have 42 or 43 total once I hit 2 million Balth, so that would make a nice prize for someone.

I always make sure to answer the questions about when the hats will be given out.

If I bother playing on Christmas day, I can't wait to see people call each other noobs. Maybe not...

I'm the person sitting in Kamadan or Lion's Arch, patiently answering the questions of all the spamming jerks who simply aren't going to check the website/wiki/scroll for information, ever, and have to have it fed to them. Not that I'm getting tired of it or anything, yanno.

I also offer free LA runs to low-levels in Ascalon, or help with missions to get players there. I'm not quick because I don't regularly do it, but I'll get you there.

Occasionally I give out elf tonics too.

i try to find people that i feel could use a bit of help...the random people looking for a group for Galrath's quest in Bergen's Hot Springs..i usually will help them fight through and finish the quest... I go to yaks and hand out max weapons...and give an ecto to all my guild members. most of em are broke 90% of the time

You're supposed to be nice all year, not just for the week before Christmas.

EDIT: To stay on topic, I'll just do the usual "good" things I do. Help people if they need it. Reply if I know the answer to a question they ask, etc.

I usually tolerate haggle on my items in holiday, especially in Kamadan.

I like to stock up on items as well. This year I even purchased my monk a set of norn armor and dyed it red, plus the santa hat from last year, it works out just fine, and is perfect for the holiday season

Sure, you should be nice all year round, but this is just an excuse for me to waste more money on random people that probably don't even need what I'm giving out, but take it anyway to try and pawn it off for a few K later :P

Doesn't bother me, at least I'm trying to make a difference in a new player's game-life.

mm I give presents to My Mates and Help Some newbies in my alliance and running ppl free..

I do this too.
I usually won't help them run ToA or Beetletun or other areas to find what they need. If I do, it is usually Beetletun or the NPC that gives you the termites on beach north of LA. I like to help point people in the right direction for a quest, but I don't want to do it for them.

I am looking to do some type of small random present giving also this year, may not be much, but I have been helped by others in the past by their generosity, I would like to do the same for once.

I decided back in November or so that this December I would give away more of the stuff I have for free; I figured the event would give me a chance to give away some more stuff. I sat around in Kamadan earlier this week giving away greens, and I still have some to give away. So that's mostly it for me, other than the usual stuff to people in my alliance and to people I meet in game that just seem like good people.

I think it's great that people are thinking of being in the giving spirit! :: hugs Kane :: Do you usually PM people or just sit around saying "free greens"? I never know the best way to do it because if I PM some people just ignore me, but if I go "Free!!!" I'm swiftly overrun with people opening trade windows!
