Anyone else remember (fondly,or not so fondly) back in the early days of Co-op pve. THK, Dunes, HP all the harder missions were a rite of passage. Finding and leading a good group was a art. (and some luck)

I doubt everyone would want to go back to that, but in GW2 it would seem pointless to be lvl 100+ if only Koss the 47th or Margid the Unbelieveablely Old was there to see it.

So do You think heros should be in GW2?

I definitely remember those days of trying to find the right groups for THK and Hell's Precipice, and all of the other Ring of Fire missions, and Vizunah Square, and Arborstone, and Unwaking Waters...

I don't want to wait a year or more for heroes to be implemented into GW2.

Deffinately some sort of system for players who prefer to go with AI.

As it is a lot of people who use h/h never really pugged or (As is my case) purchased it with the intent to not PuG.
Supporting both grouping and solo players leads to more options for players and also the game appeals to a greater range of gamers.

GW attracted a lot of people by supporting solo play with AI.

I hope they will atleast force people to take atleast one other human player, like they have now with heroes.

Because telling people how to play the game is great for sales!

It would be very much like it is with GW now, if you removed h/h you wouldnt get those people who purchased it to play solo suddenly pugging. They would just quit.

Give people the option to play how they want.

Yes Im going to see if I can still solo with henchies and heroes in GW2 or at least not dependent on other players. Im not gonna waste hours of LFG for every single mission, quest or other pve activities if the solo gaming removed in GW2, Id rather play other game.

As much as I enjoy hero's, I would rather Anet invest in a split between PvP and PvE so skill modification to encourage new builds does not effect PvE in any way. The word Balance is over used like the word Love is.

Who knows how the game will turn out, it could have a completley re-worked system, I heard something about being able to take one companion which could mean itll be like WoW in which case I wont be buying it because I'd rather shoot myself than player games like WoW.

I'd prefer no heroes or "companions". I don't mind henchies, but limit them. Why even play an online game if you want to just sit there and play by yourself?

If there will be no henchies and heroes I won't take PUG anyway. Instead I will try to solo the whole game and probably die trying.

Guild > Alliance > Heroes > Henchies > Solo > PUG

But guild and alliance is for pvp, so...

Why do you have that retarded urge to tell others how to play? Do I tell you how to play? Cool, I don't think you have any right to tell ME how to play.

Definitely. I play Guild Wars because it ISN'T designed like other online RPG's. I enjoy playing it co-operativly with friends, but I do not want to be forced to play with random people. The only reason I started playing Guild Wars again, after forgetting about it was because of Nightfall and the inclusion of heroes.

Guild Wars has always been advertised as a multi OR single player game. And while I don't mind most of the changes they're making with GW2, losing the single player aspect would be something that would kill any interest I have in it.

I'd like to see a sort of matchmaking system, like in PVP, where you just press enter mission, and it assigns you with a team if your unable to find a party.

well i want heros, i remeber when 3 of my friends were in urgozes, we beat it with heros. (t took like 7 hours) but also the main reason why i want heros is for the exploring, i mean than atleast youll know what your heros are doing.

I'd like them for quiet times, so I'm a definite yes, but I'd also like more dynamic options/better ways of teaming so it's not just 'group with the horrors of the internet or play alone'. I'm sure they're working on it.

Yeah I REALLY like the idea they got going now with 1 companion. As long as it can be a character or atleast customised like a character.

How to not make a poll:
1. Biased and childish answers
2. Showing names of those who voted.

FAIL!

And it has been announced that if there's heroes/henchmen/mercenaries they will be like in Diablo II, which is a good thing in my opinion.

That's correct, based on the released information. I don't even know what the point of this poll is, since the decision appears to have already been made.

The game will be soloable without AI, supposedly, and you'll be able to take one companion. Someone above said this sounds like NWN, and they're right. Incidentally, NWN (while a great platform for multiplayer gaming) was a completely worthless single player game, despite being soloable (it was just dull as dirt played that way). Anet is removing the party dynamic, and thus most of the diversity of game play, from the single player game. It's a shame, but fits an overall pattern.

Between this, persistent explorable areas, no level cap, changes to the skill system... meh, I don't even know why they're bothering to call it "Guild Wars" anymore. It's certainly not a game I'm interested in based on what's been said so far, just sounds like some crappy MMO.
